Try and save the album. The singles chart AND album chart are absolutely dead with terrible sales. The Sats could easily take advantage of this by releasing a fourth single and giving the album a price cut (ala Beyonce '4'). Moving on would be a complete waste of material.

There is NO way that 'White Lies' will get released. Considering it was one of (if not the only! - excluding the bonus tracks) the songs they didn't perform on their tour (IKR?!). I reckon it would have gone down SO well with the crowd.

I would love them to throw a single out now, hopefully Faster as its the only single worthy track I like on the album. Then come back in June with a REALLY GOOD song a la Up/Ego/Higher followed by a 5th album of similar stuff in early October with another single late September. But then again I'd rather OYR had never happened.
Realistically, IF they get a GH with a single they'll be lucky. I fully expect them to chuck out a bargain GH in the early Autumn with little to no fanfare and that'll be them done. |

They need to stick the album out.
It just shows the complete lack of faith in their material if everytime something doesn't go their way they just abandon it and move on. How can they be called artists if they have so little faith and don't care about their material? It's annoying. |

A re-release isn't really an option on the poll.
I'd say they should sort of follow Pixie Lotts lead in that their album has done poor off the back of an under-performing single, yet just carry on with another single from the album with promo like she is doing. The Saturdays haven't actually been on tv since they released the album, so I'd say release Faster asap and hopefully get some tv slots and see how actually mentioning that they have an album out helps. I think they need to try and keep costs down and work their hardest at selling this album, they can't really afford to have another 'flop' album to their name, and there's no reason this album shouldn't sell, it's not terrible by any means. If they can't sell this I don't see them selling many albums in the future so I don't see the point of moving on. If another single doesn't help at all, re-release with 4 or so more 'traditional Saturday' sounding songs like Ego/Higher, but still as part of this album. It's not unheard of that later singles can boost an album and it's worth a shot to me. I agree with Tabloid Darling, they can't just keep moving on everytime it goes badly (which seems to be everytime lately), they need to stick this one out, it's their only option imo. Carry on with OYR, definitely. At least given another single a shot, with loads of promotion, and they'll have no trouble getting to/near the top of the charts when the sales are dead around now.

The problem is there's only 2, maybe 3 weeks, left of this January dead patch, they needed to have the single out RIGHT NOW for it to be doing anything. By the time they get it out, even if they started everything asap, it would be February and the charts will be busy again then.

They should use 'Turn Myself In' though whatever they do next as the fans did seem to love that and it seems silly to ignore something when the fans were calling for it. Even if it's just used as a b-side or a bonus track on a re-release... unless everyone is over that now.

They should at least try one more single, I mean it's working for Pixie Lott (even if it's a combination of incredible luck/good timing) after she flopped (albeit not quite as bad as The Sats so far this era), so they should just get it quickly to radios and then go from there. I'm sure it would at least go top 20.

Honestly, a GH and then split. They just can't sell an album.

Continue with the album campaign. They went back to the top40 with Wordshaker, and they can do that again since this is selling consistently more than that album. The fact that All Fired Up has got to the 200k mark in the last weeks is a sign that they are able to sell music...they just have to try.

I don't mind a bit of the Saturdays but I genuinely think maybe their time is up. They had a good bash and can look back with pride but 2012 needs a GH set and a goodbye.

Rumour has it The Saturdays are doomed, and the problem with The Saturdays is that they believe it.
Having a little faith in their material, taking a few more risks, just putting themselves out there would've saved their career. They had one of the year's most memorable club bangers in All Fired Up, yet they decided to abandon it after it stalled at #3. The ballad was good for Winter, but not very good as a follow up to All Fired Up and certainly not good at all to sell the album. They should've infected the clubs with Move On U or Get Ready, Get Set (or even Faster) and release the album then. As it is there's not much else they can do. They believe they're flops, the label believe they're flops, the public doesn't even remember them by now. I would churn out the Greatest Hits and call it a day. |

I agree that they seem to have little faith in themselves. I really think Headlines could have went platinum if they bothered to release another single (Missing You and Higher were hits, the album was doing well, why on earth didn't they release another single?) and I really do believe On Your Radar still has potential. It might not stand a chance of going platinum, but it could easily cross the 100K mark and we could get a decent sized hit out of it (Faster). They can't just give up everytime they flop, there's been so many campaigns that have turned around after one single release.
Saying that, they probably won't get much airplay (they have a 'flop' tag again) and if they did release a single it'd probably be the Travie one so maybe they shouldn't bother after all... |

I wouldn't worry too much to be honest.
It was 'revealed' in the PopJustice forums a day or two ago that after they left Maximum management (Jayne-Fascination-gate) all 5 members of The Saturdays set up their own business (if you like) and all are Company Directors, and own trading name 'The Saturdays' etc, not the label. It's been suggested that this way they recieve more profit through merch, touring and music sales as it goes through to their company 'Day and Night Ventures'. I don't know if you guys remember Mollie's tweet after they left Jayne's management group and it said something like "JUST MADE THE BEST DECISION OF OUR LIVES". If they where dropped at some stage, they could actually just set up their own label as the groundwork is already in place. This isn't typical of every group/artist by the way. |
