Noel Gallagher and Jack Grealish curate playlists of favourite songs ahead of Manchester City FA Cup return

Grealish, meanwhile, chose songs by Ronan Keating, Robbie Williams, Lewis Capaldi and Dido‘s ‘Thank You’, which he said brings back “real good memories”.

Rita Ora and Robbie Williams lead artists stars signing up for star-studded concert in bid to raise millions for fight against climate change

Rita Ora and Robbie Williams have reportedly signed up as headliners for a new benefit concert called Climate Aid, which aims to rival Live Aid and raise millions to combat climate change. Over 30 major artists, including Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, U2, Imagine Dragons, and others, are expected to perform in London and Los Angeles stadiums next year. The event which is set to be a global spectacle, will be produced by ITV's Creative Director Lee Connolly who put together the channel’s coverage of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

It is also backed by Island Records, who managed U2 and former BBC Radio broadcast director Paul Robinson is negotiating a global TV deal for the concert. The two scheduled concerts in January 2025 will mark the 40th anniversary of Live Aid and are planned to occur every two years.

A source told The Mirror: 'Two concerts, in London and LA, are scheduled to take place in January next year and will unite the world to raise vital funds for climate change. 'It will mark 40 years since Live Aid raised over £100million for famine relief in Ethiopia and has the biggest names in the industry driving it forward. Music fans won’t have seen a concert of this scale since. The plan is for it to happen every two years.'

Proceeds from ticket sales will fund the newly established Climate Aid charity, focusing on large-scale initiatives to reduce emissions. It featured renowned acts such as Status Quo, Queen, David Bowie, Madonna, and others. Phil Collins, who declined participation in Climate Aid due to retirement, notably performed in both London and Philadelphia during Live Aid. In 2005, Live 8, a follow-up fundraiser with 10 simultaneous concerts worldwide, supported the UK's Make Poverty History campaign. The initiative gained global attention, reinforcing the power of the music industry in addressing critical issues. The iconic Live Aid took place in 1985 and saw Queen perform for a legendary 20-minutes. t has often been voted the most memorable festival moment of all time.

Nearly two billion people – a third of humanity – tuned in to Live Aid, the global jukebox that raised millions for the starving of Africa, with 72,000 lucky enough to be at Wembley to see history in the making. The concert saw 90,000 watching on a big screen in Philadelphia’s JFK Stadium, and the event was beamed live to 150 countries. in the UK that day, with another £36m in the States.

There were pledges totalling £50 million. 50,000 £5 programmes and 10,000 £2.50 posters had sold out before Status Quo reached the stage.

It would be great to watch the gig, but surely musical artists are amongst those with the largest carbon footprint on the planet aren't they? unsure.gif

They're going to be asking people who might use a plane once a year to donate money?

Yes, they sure are. It is said that the richest 1% account for more carbon emissions than poorest 66%.

Not sure how this fundraising is going to help climate change ... Is this event actually happening or just a rumour unsure.gif

I came across an article on Wiki from a similar climate change gig (Live Earth (2007 ) where similar issues were raised

Bands including The Who, Muse and Arctic Monkeys dubbed Live Earth "Private Jets for Climate Change."[28] The event's total carbon footprint, including the artists' and spectators' travel and energy consumption, was probably at least 74,500 tonnes, according to John Buckley of CarbonFootPrint.com - more than 3,000 times the average Briton's annual footprint.[28] An estimate reported that 100,000 planted trees are required to offset total carbon emissions produced during the entire event, as well as a key sponsor for the event being Chevrolet, promoting a new hybrid four-wheel drive.[29]

The BBC cancelled a later major attempt to "raise consciousness" of global climate change. The BBC's news story suggested that this was in part because "poor ratings in the UK and elsewhere for July's Live Earth concert may have confirmed the internal belief that the public do not like being "lectured to" on climate change."[30]

DaimlerChrysler used its low-emissions Smart car brand while sponsoring the event worldwide.

Concert-goers at the event’s London leg had left thousands of plastic cups on the floor of Wembley Stadium, although organisers had urged audience members to use the recycling bins provided, the BBC reported.[31]

Al Gore was unhappy with the travel arrangements of the UK band Razorlight. After their appearance at the London Live Earth event, they were ferried to an airport in a large tour bus with a police escort to catch a private jet to Scotland. From the airport in Scotland they travelled by helicopter to Balado to perform at T in the Park. Razorlight claimed they would offset their emissions by planting trees.[32]

Singer-songwriter John Mayer, one of the big attractions at the New Jersey/New York concert had not signed Gore's seven-point Live Earth pledge. "If you want to peg me as not being entirely eco-friendly, you'll win," Mayer told reporters after his set. "We're just getting together saying 'We want to be healthier'.”[33]

Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field: ‘I have a beautiful wardrobe for a life that someone else lives

If you’ve seen the Robbie Williams Netflix documentary, then you’ll now also be familiar with the singer’s wife of 13 years, Ayda Field.

The US-born actress and mother of their four children is just as relaxed and transparent about life as her husband. He features regularly on her Instagram feed, the pair dancing together in their underwear, playing with the kids and their menagerie of pets, and twinning in outfits from her athleisure line, Ayda. “We’re both classic oversharers,” she says.
All the same, the rawness of Williams’ documentary, released last autumn, made for painful viewing. “My story with Rob starts when I meet him, he didn’t really exist in my world before,” she admits. “You obviously know stories that friends have told you, but you don’t really understand the totality of something until you see it played out like that... There was the part of me that was the partner that wanted to jump into the storyline sooner to fix it, and also the part of me who had this very maternal response to a boy facing some real abuse. It was a very emotional watch.”
We’re meeting in a personal shopping suite at Browns Fashion in Mayfair where the Ayda collection is now stocked. She’s wearing the label head-to-toe: a two-tone blue silky bomber jacket and matching trousers, her “F--- Yeah” Ayda athletic socks and Prada platform sandals. It’s her first appointment of the day and her energy is infectious.
Field conceived of the idea to fill the gaps in her own wardrobe. She wanted clothes that were comfortable and fit for purpose but also fun. “I live in workout gear, I wear it all day long,” she says. “When you have four kids it’s not New York Fashion Week, there’s not multiple wardrobe changes in the day.”
The lightbulb moment came during the pandemic, when her activewear became a uniform. “[I thought] why am I wearing a one-shoulder workout bra that’s not gonna hold up my tits? … Yet the pieces that were really functional felt very suburban and underwhelming; nothing represented a woman who was funny and dynamic. Someone who worked and juggled and was messy and fantastic at the same time. It was all very either devoid of personality or sanctimonious and perfection. And none of that resonated.”

Enter Ayda the brand, which has the required wit in spades. There’s a T-shirt with a retro Beverly Hills logo and the words “Nouveau Riche” running across it. On the reverse of her bomber jacket are the words: “Beverly Hills High On My Own Supply”
The greatest compliment is seeing people who she doesn’t know wearing Ayda pieces. That has included another mother at the school gates, while a friend recently sent a video of someone crossing the road in LA wearing Ayda joggers. “Those moments mean so much to me,” she says. “It’s so validating and exciting and empowering.”
The biggest hit though? Those athletic socks, which come in sets of three, each pair with its own expletive empowerment slogan. They disappear from her wardrobe all the time: “[Eldest daughter] Teddy and [son] Charlie, along with Rob, all steal my socks. So before I realise, Charlie will be going to soccer practice and he has “F--- Yeah”, socks on. Or Teddy will have “Micro Dose” on or “F---ing Fantastic”. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, the [other] parents are gonna judge me.’”
The kids have free rein in her wardrobe all the same. “They all go into my closet. Beau, Coco, Teddy, Charlie, and they all ransack it, the glasses are flying, the handbags are flying, the shoes. They play this really unfortunate game of: ‘When you’re gone.’ Like, ‘Can I have this?’ And I’m like, did you realise that means I’m gone?”

So is it chock-full of designer treasures? Well, yes – not that they get all that much use. “I have a beautiful wardrobe for a life that someone else lives. I’ve got fabulous clothes and I do wear them but it’s this small 10 per cent that I grab in the morning. When it’s 7am and I’m getting dressed for school drop-off, I’m grabbing the first thing in my closet that’s comfortable.

“Yesterday, I started my day with my Ayda cricket sweater, leggings and my F--- Yeah socks, then I had to meet with girlfriends and I was going to a members-only club so I put on Gucci jeans, but kept my cricket sweater on. I put nice Celine shoes over the socks, and a Celine coat and I looked chic as f---. Then I came back and did bathtime in my Ayda sweatpants, and I still had my cricket jumper on.”
Field has different clothes for different moods, there’s no one rule or aesthetic that unites the contents of her wardrobe. “I can have a serious The Row or Celine moment, but I also love Rodarte and Dries Van Noten and Marni, so it depends how I feel. I want to either embrace the madness or completely shut it down and be mysterious – [but] even my severe has to be kind of playful. I’m too dramatic to be totally understated.”

One thing Ayda will always resist when it comes to style is being pigeonholed. “I enjoy the mixture. I think that’s where creativity comes in,” she says. “I love second-hand and high street clothing [too]. I went out to dinner the other night and I had some Isabel Marant jeans, The Row shoes and a Zara blouse. And I felt f---ing great.

Well, maybe there’s one consistent factor: “Of course I was wearing my F---ing Fantastic socks,” she adds. “My little wink to myself, even if no one can see it. They go everywhere. They’re a joy.”

SCENTSATIONAL Robbie Williams, Chris Pratt and Adele join forces for a supermarket perfume ad – but there’s a twist unsure.gif

The chief customer officer at Lidl GB said: "We hope our customers love the campaign as much as they love our incredible perfumes."
ROBBIE Williams, Chris Pratt and Adele have joined forces for a supermarket perfume ad – but not all is as it seems. Rather than the former Take That favourite, Hollywood actor and British singer, a group of Lidl employees who share the same names have been chosen to front the latest fragrance campaign by the discount supermarket. From store managers to a customer assistant and warehouse desk clerk, the staff are modelling the brand’s cheeky Suddenly and G. Bellini perfume adverts. Each of the namesakes have undergone a stunning transformation, swapping their store get up for glitz and glamour.

Peter De Roos, chief customer officer at Lidl GB, said “Our colleagues are super stars every day so who else would we call when we wanted to launch a high-profile campaign to promote our perfume than our very own Adele, Shakira, Chris and Robbie? “Our perfume range is carefully crafted to offer the absolute best quality, at market leading prices and, we hope our customers love the campaign as much as they love our incredible perfumes.”
Lending their faces to the G. Bellini scents are store manager, Chris Pratt, from Preston Grange, as well as Robbie Williams, a deputy store manager from Stanningley. With Shakira Khan, a customer assistant from Luton, and Adele Prattley, a warehouse desk clerk from Lidl’s Luton RDC fronting the Suddenly fragrances. The supermarket chain’s perfume range has amassed an army of money-saving fans on social media, with TikToks relating to ‘viral Lidl perfume’ collectively racking up an estimated 724.4million views.

Robbie Williams added: “For years, people have sung (the other) Robbie Williams songs at me when I introduce myself but now I’m famous in my own right…
I’m poised and ready to sign all the autographs that will come rolling in.”

Chris Pratt added: “I’ve loved being part of this campaign and keeping it a surprise - my own family didn’t know until the billboard went up outside the store I work in. For years people have thought I was joking when I make a dinner reservation but now you can’t miss me.”

Looks like this is still a work in progress smile.gif

Feel was the best book written by Chris about Robbie, the second book I did not like but that is purely personal preference , I never got to finish it .
