I just don't vote in these things but if I did ...

Talent Show - I'd pass - they're all shite

Serial Drama - Emmerdale

Comedy - I'd pass - I don't like any of these

Drama - I'd pass again - The Fall was better than any of these

Drama Performance - Maggie Smith (one of the few reasons DA is still worth watching)

Factual Entertainment - An Idiot Abroad

Daytime - The Chase (in the absence of The Wright Stuff being nominated)

Newcomer - Marc Baylis

Serial Drama Performance - David Neilson

Documentary Series - I'd pass - I haven't seen any of these (although hubby says Educating Yorkshire was very good)

Entertainment Programme - I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here

The Ant and Dec Award Entertainment Presenter - Graham Norton

TV Detective - I'd pass (Gillian Anderson should have been nominated for The Fall)

seeing as no one talked about it yet, what are everyone's thoughts on the awards? did you expect the winners?. were you hoping for someone else?

my high point was seeing ant and dec walk away with 2 awards, i knew they would (they are just so funny!)

mrs browns boys deserved the award as well, given the shows it was up against

my low points.. surprised nothing for downton, and nothing for emmerdale

discuss!

'Penguins: Spy in the Huddle' was ROBBED just because some pathetic show about a school in England is deemed better. :/

'Mrs Brown's Boys' should not have won Entertainment either; 'Miranda' was obvious for that. And 'Celebrity Juice' instead of 'I'm A Celebrity' would have been preferable.

i'd never even heard of that penguin thing, or educating yorkshere. i know, 1 of the most talked about shows of the year, and i've not heard of it

1 thing i forgot to mention, sam baily's live performance was really good. though would have liked her to do skyscraper

Pretty much. I just do not get why they are so popular. It's not that they are never funny, it's just that you have to wade through a lot of shit to get there.

The continuity announcer on BBC Four.

Richard Osman.

Bill (King of f*cking awkward interviews and laughing at his own jokes) Turnbull

The fact that ITV seem to use them to present every bloody show there is going says more about the DEARTH of talent in the UK currently than how great 'Ant and Dec' are. They are bland and completely devoid of talent.

There are PLENTY people on TV who are funnier than Ant and Dec put together. laugh.gif

Any award they are nominated in need not even have other nominees in the future. Because they're so "amazing". drama.gif

Thank god I'm not the only one who thinks Ant and Dec aren't really funny at all! I think throughout the whole series of I'm A Celeb each year, I laugh once or twice at them and yet everyone seems to absolutely love them, I could think of tonnes of people quick fire who are funnier than them.

There are many, many people funnier than them. Ian Hislop, and basically everyone on Have I Got News For You alone outstrip them 10 fold.

Ant and Dec make I'm a Celebrity imo but I do agree that it's getting tiring that they win the award every single year. The problem that they are presenting lots of shows on ITV is a problem based with ITV itself as they only have about 5 presenters that they use on rotation: Ant and Dec, Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Stephen Mulhern and Keith Lemon.

Mrs. Browns Boys seems so overrated. I watched an episode or two, and it's like watching the pantomime, without the humour.

I was so happy for Corrie and Julie Hesmondhalgh though. Really wanna see her new play!!! Thinking a weekend in Manchester is up!
