Slightly random thread but I've just listened to the radio edit of Foxes' Glorious and it seems to have been pitched up! Similar to Somebody To You by The Vamps, which had the pitch raised for the single release with Demi (perhaps to suit her voice?). The other example I can think of is You Are by Atomic Kitten, although that single was cancelled anyway.

Are there any other examples of this? And are radio suddenly more likely to play a former album track if the pitch is notched up a bit? I don't see the logic behind it!?!

Clubs always seem to play songs pitched up as well, anyone know why?

this is something i've noticed quite a lot over the years - no examples really come to mind as solid (usually it's just radios / clubs doing it as they fancy) but i think it's to get songs in a more commercial and pleasing pitch for the ear. i've noticed this (especially in quite a few kylie / dance songs) where the whole song has been recorded, then the entire thing pitched up to make it almost chipmunky, a difference only really noticed when it's performed live.
