So predictably, after celebrities have pretty much finished pouring ice over them, the general public now take it upon themselves to do the same thing, only it's never as good!l

What is your favourite video (the fails compilation are hilarious)? Have you been nominated? Have you donated? Would you take part?

Aside I think the motto behind it is brilliant. Great cause to raise awareness!

I love the idea! Great to see such a fun activity raising so much money for a great cause!

I wasn't nominated but I did it anyway, I won't post a video here considering I'm a minor but it was really fun to do!

I have been nominated and I might actually do it tomorrow. It'll probably involve tractors.

I'm already sick of hearing about this (I know it's for charity etc. but it's just stupid and any humour value it had was gone after the first time).

I done it today and donated my £3 to both ALS and Macmillans Cancer Care. One of my best friends has done the best one I have seen. She poured 3 buckets or Iced water over hear head then went to walk away and tripped up over the bucket, fell flat on her face and has fractured her ankle because of it... laugh.gif

I've spoken about my issues with this elsewhere. It's great how it's raising money/awareness. But I do hate the narcissism and the nomination factor.

If I am to be nominated I will take party but refuse to nominate. People should choose to be involved rather than feel pressured into it.

It's great and is for a very good cause and is actually working as far as raising money is concerned so I can't fault the idea, and that puts it above that awful neknomination craze. But predictably, a lot of people are now just doing it for attention rather than the cause as it becomes more widespread so it's kinda ruined it and made it a bit of an annoyance. Even ignoring that, it's all over my timeline now and I'm sick of it.

I read somewhere today that someone in Fife died doing this. I don't mind the challenge, but people taking it to the next extreme is just stupid, it distracts from the
actual reason for doing it.
I've been nominated, wont be doing it laugh.gif will still donate though.

I've been nominated too but won't do it. People can donate to charity without showing off on social media for likes and general attention, I don't begrudge other people doing it and if course raising awareness is nothing but good though.

A couple of people on my Facebook did it and didn't donate, they didn't know it was charity and just assume it's like the neck nomination craze.

The most disturbing thing about this is that at some point down the line this means at least 1 person saw it and thought 'lol that looks fun but I don't give a fuck about charity so I'll just forget that'. Probably multiple people. (Not accusing your friends of this ofc)

Completely agreed.

I read this thing where they said it was a way for celebs to seductively shiver following the challenge and name drop pals, makin the charitable cause all about them and it asked why isn't it something that DOESN'T make them look good. Would everyone still be runnin on board to do it?

I haven't done it and shan't.

Yup, just showin off really. I think it's much better to donate directly to charities of your choice.

It really irks me when people (both celebs and regular people) don't even mention ALS. Like how hard is it to mention it, post a link along with the video and possibly donate something yourself?

ALS isn't even the name for the disease in the UK, which is kinda ironic seeing as they're doing it to 'raise awareness' about it.

I first saw my friend from Texas who I met through uni do it way before celebrities etc were nominated. It does irritate me how fans nominate celebrities, I have a girl on Twitter who nominated Rochelle Humes, like why, do you not have any proper friends? laugh.gif
