Like the title suggests, do you use/do you prefer PC or MAC computers?

I personally always go for a PC because a lot of what MACs are good for like design based functions I would never use so I'd be wasting my money. Phone wise however, I have an iPhone and I'm happy enough with it to not be considering switching to something else, so I'm not completely sworn off all apple products (if that's a good or a bad thing idk but judge me accordingly).

I've done both and I've gone back to PC. Macs are just far too expensive for what they are, and their durability is pretty poor. But if you've got £900 to spend on pretty then sure, go for it.

I'm a full Mac convert and I would never go back. The Macbook has outlasted every Windows laptop I've had and recently upgraded my XP Desktop to an iMac instead of suffering Windows 8.

Still have to use Windows at work, 7 thankfully, but I much prefer OS X. It's worth spending the money to get the operating system I think. Everything works so much better, it's quicker, it's smoother and it just looks better. It's so easy to use wub.gif

I never saw the fuss until I ended up getting a Macbook for Christmas (handy as the one I had stopped working about a week before and that would've not been ideal for A Levels) and ever since I've been glued to it. I'm impartial though, we have a PC too!

I have admittedly never used a Mac, but I'm so comfortable with my PCs and their price ranges that I don't think I'd ever really switch. It might be fun once I'd gotten used to it but the ways of PCs are just so ingrained with me now that I would not want to confuse myself for, what looks like from over here, just swisher graphics and a nice interface.

I have enough issues with my iPad (in that they're not issues per se but more that there's so many things I prefer to do on my laptop where I know I'm in control) for me to not consider it.

I was just about to make a thread like this, good job i searched the forum before I did, so I'll put my question in here if thats ok smile.gif

My current laptop (HP pavilion dm4) is becoming a big pile of poop lately, I've had it for about 3 years (maybe a little longer, I'm unsure exactly), and its become slow, noisy and gets hot very very quickly but I have had a lot of use out of it, I'm actually surprised its lasted so long. I've been looking at new laptops, but i'm not very techno-minded, all the specs don't really mean a great deal to me. Someone suggested an apple computer to me, and while I use other apple products, phone, ipad & ipod, i thought i'd have a look at them.
they are super expensive, but you can pay monthly on the apple store website, but will it be worth paying (for example) £43 for 24 months? I've heard they dont come with a DVD drive, but you can buy them from anywhere, seen them fairly cheap on amazon, so I would be able to put my CDs onto itunes.
I would mostly use it for the internet, running pink history means i have to save a lot of photos (which are currently on a USB flash drive), I do a lot of photo editing, work with my photography pics. I don't use my laptop for gaming (which i've read the macbooks are not good for). And I've read that you dont need to buy anti-virus stuff on a macbook...
So anyway, my question is for advice, which is better, the pros and cons for both... Which would be best for me? What are the main differences between the air and the pro?
I'm thinking about going to pc world over the weekend to have a look at them in 'real life' instead of on the website. I love apple products so at the moment i'm about 90% certain I'd like to get one, but with it being so much money, i want to be closer to 100% so i need some advice etc from people who have used them biggrin.gif

The Air doesn't have a DVD drive (it's too slim for that) but the Pro does.

I must say that when purchasing my MacBook Pro, the disk drive swayed me over an Air at the time. However, I am more than happy with my Mac Laptop!
I have had the same one for 4 years and not had any major problems with it at all! After 100s of recharging etc, the battery does now needs a service or replacement in the near future. Anywho, that is not bad after 4 years of extremely heavy usage!! it still runs beautifully and reliably. Plus compatibility with PC is hardly a problem with Microsoft Software such as Word and Powerpoint being easily cross compatible smile.gif I highly recommend Mac to anyone considering one!

I've heard mostly good things about apple computers now. The only bad things I've heard are the price (usually from people who haven't got one because they think it's too much) and the DVD drive, but like I said you can buy external ones pretty cheap from amazon....I'm pretty sure that I'll have one by Christmas laugh.gif
