I have an interview for a job at Escape Rooms, a real life escape puzzle centre based on a computer game. Sounds like, really awesome and it would kinda be nice to be employed given I still have another two weeks of doing nothing until my Masters starts...

I've just come to terms that alcoholism runs in my family and I just have a very addictive personality. Recently, I have been going through a bit of a depression (as most of you know from previous posts a couple weeks ago), and I realized I was starting to use alcohol as a crutch... which is the recipe for addiction. It was also just further destructing my life as well. Figured I'd quit the cigs as well.

Um, I make appearances. But, I have been leaving rather quickly once people start getting too drunk. I've only gone out twice where alcohol was involved, made it in for about an hour max. With that being said, I'm trying to slowly change my social settings. But, after only 2 weeks I am more in touch with myself then I have been in possibly over a year.

I definitely was/am an addict that caught it before it completely spiraled out of control.

Oh gosh, I can completely relate drama.gif I feel as if I always verge on becoming a complete alcohol or substance addict in stressful situations. Like coming home to wine is a must etc etc.

Especially with the last job I had, travelling from one city to the other - the long and stressful hours. I was an absolute mess and I used these addictions as a coping mechanism when going clubbing, religiously day to day. And before I knew it, it spiraled out of control. I'd go out party with random strangers, pass out everywhere, falls down stairs, lose my keys and phone the whole time to put things mildly.

It was a major wake up call for me, hence why I left the job, went back home just to be in a niche I'm used to. I've been out a few times since I've been back, drank a lot but enjoyed it and remembered it at least. But during the week and in general I'm completely free of those addictions and like i have a voice in my head telling me to stay away from clubs and addiction that works now, even though I give in every now and then.

But still, I am A LOT better than I was. I gym religiously now and do yoga with my new boss, and try do outdoor outings etc more with sweet pea than clubbing/alcohol et al

Fri: buzzjack. 8 out of 10 cats
sat: skip filling of 30 years of house and garden crap with niece and nephews. Shed up. Mayb go see Bryan Adams, see how I feel.
sun: packing ready for week in Sitges next week, sunshine beach, festival fireworks, clubbing, rare bit of alcohol. Just a bit, don't do hangovers. I'm in the mood for some rollercoasters too, but those tales of being tossed about upside down will have to wait for the following weekends.
