What songs on paper really SHOULD have come out as amazing based on the artists involved, but don't quite cut it in the end for you?

The absolute big one for me, considering it is the two biggest female artists i fan for, was this very mediocre number (at least for their standards~):

Sorry.

Any others you can think of??

Shakira feat. Rihanna - Can't Remember To Forget You

Both Nicki/Rihanna collabs aren't as brilliant as you thought they would've been.

'Princess Of China' is a track I just didn't get. Not that I'm a massive Coldplay fan but RiRi has done a lot better colabs IMO.

Michael Jackson / Paul McCartney - The Girl Is Mine is one of the worst songs of his careers but then i can't really imagine how the collab could have worked?

The Shakira/Rihanna one is another obvious dud.

'Raining Men' is awful yes, the real weak link on the album, but 'Fly' works for me.

CRTFY is a huge one! It's not awful, it's album filler at worst but just fine at best. Agree with both Nicki/RiRi collab too.

Me Against The Music no no no though! In fairness it's probably not even in my Britney or Madonna top 20 but still! I mean everyone has seen their flawless discographies so it isn't gonna be their best track!

Raining Men is quite the track tho. Same with Fly and Princess of China

Can't Remember To Forget You is the recent example for me. It's just not as amazing as it could've been

Edit: I also agree with MATM. What kinda letdown

Raining Men and Fly are both below average for Rihanna tracks. But then I'm hardly a Minaj fan.

As someone (probably one of the few) who is a big fan of both Coldplay and Rihanna I suppose I was satisfied with Princess Of China and it is a brilliant track but it's still not quite the best track on Mylo Xyloto, and given it is probably the biggest collab that's ever going to happen between any of my favourite acts it really should be. Can't Remember To Forget You was perfectly matched to my expectations though.

The Rihanna collab that's really been a let down recently has been Numb though. Awful track and I normally love Eminem.

Also, Within Temptation and Tarja's track together tired on me far quicker than I thought it would (because that was potentially the golden collab in symphonic metal, short of Nightwish themselves hooking up with WT) and it's far from being my favourite track on Hydra and definitely the weakest single. Regina will kill me but I tried to love it and I just couldn't.

I would say 'Can't Remember To Forget You' was a pretty huge letdown, but not 'Me Against The Music'. Even if you don't really enjoy MATM I think it's pretty much exactly what a Britney/Madge duet should be. It really just felt "right" for the dynamic between the two at the time, and the video added to that. CRTFY on the other hand was really just a somewhat limp Shakira track and while the video was far from bad, it felt rather uninspired to just have the plot be "two hot women groping each other".

Me Against the Music is a masterpiece and the video is ICONIC. Shame on y'all.

The biggest disappointment of all time has to be Girls Aloud/Sugababes - Walk This Way surely!

SO much disagreement. adore that track.

Madonna / Prince 'Love Song' may be the worst song in her entire catalogue.

Only challenged by Incredible according to THIS jury.

Also, on topic, and also sticking with Madonna: 4 Minutes, I mean it's fine and gave her a big hit, but it really ain't all that.

Bang bang is the first one that comes to mind to be honest. The teaser sounded brilliant but the actual outcome wasn't as good as I was expecting. However, jessie sounds very good in it wub.gif

I'm not sure any song featuring Jessie J could ever hit the mark. Unless that mark was the collective suicide of a nation, of course.
