After the long wait the results for the Dannii Minogue singles rate will be posted in this thread, with 27 singles it's pop Dannii vs dance Dannii, who will come out on top. Okay she may not be quite as successful as her older sister but she has had some cracking hits in her time such as This Is It, All I Wanna Do, Who Do You Love Now, I Begin To Wonder and You Won't Forget About Me, a career that has lasted nearly 20 years. She started off doing not so memorable pop tunes, but then reinvented herself as a dance artist and became a lot more successful and managed a string of hits from the late 90's to the early 00's, going from strength to strength.

27 // Boogie Woogie (ft Eurogroove) // The Best Of Eurogroove // Avg:4.4

Highest Rates: 8 Nick F1, Lowest Rates: 3 Mr Aly, Pippa, MIKEMYER, J*hnkm

Kicking off this rate in bottom place at #27 is Dannii's 1995 hit "Boogie Woogie" which features Eurogroove and is included on their The Best Of album. Released in June 1995 in Japan only and reached #1 over there. This was also one of her first foray's into the Dance music genre. A nice enough song and quite catchy, but not at all remembered, as this scored only 1 high rate of 8 and all the rest were really low. It's a nice enough catchy song, but quite dated by today's standards, but the Japanese loved it, so it can't be all that bad surely.

26 // Love's On Every Corner // Get Into You // Avg: 5.041

Highest Rates: 6.5/6 Regina, Nick F1, Acidburn, MIKEMYER, Vibe, J*hnkm, gooddelta, Lowest Rates: 0 fgi90505

At #26 is "Love's On Every Corner" which is the first of album era singles to drop and another forgettable release that didn't get any high rates, just quite a lot of average 6's. Released in November 1992 as the 2nd single from her 2nd album "Get Into You". A pop dance song written by Danny Poku, Cathy Dennis and Paul Taylor. The single flopped on the UK charts by peaking at #44, becoming her first to miss the top 40 and only lasted 4 weeks on the charts and didn't get released in her homeland of Australia. Also co-writer Cathy Dennis sings backing vocals to this track and she even recorded a demo version. Also house/gospel diva Juliet Roberts provided back up vocals on the single version.

25 // Rescue Me (Ft Eurogroove) //The Best Of Eurogroove //Avg: 5.2

Highest Rates: 7.5 Nick F1 Lowest Rates: 4 Pippa

At #25 is the other Eurogroove track "Rescue Me" gaining a slightly better reception than "BW". Released in February 1995 and again released only in Japan on the Cutting Edge label and with an almost identical music video. The song peaked at #1 on the International Singles Chart while on Japan's Oricon Chart it peaked at #54.

24 // Show You The Way To Go // Get Into You // Avg: 5.541

Highest Rates: 7 Nick F1, Acidburn, Kellyann, MIKEMYER, Vibe Lowest Rates: -1 fh90505

At #24 is another Get Into You era single "Show You The Way To Go" which was released as the first single in July 1992. Originally sung by The Jacksons in 1977 and became a UK #1 for them, but for Dannii like most of her second album singles it failed to make an impact by peaking at #30 in the UK, then spent 1 further week in the top 40 before exiting out another week later, spending just 3 weeks on the charts and becoming her 6th top 40 hit. It fared even worse in her home country of Australia by failing to dent the top 100. However it was quite odd for Dannii to cover this for the lead single from her 2nd album, but actually she does an okay job and the music video is actually quite good and she looks great in it, so at least there was some effort put into it.

23 // Baby Love // Love And Kisses // Avg: 5.846

Highest Rates: 10 fgi90505 Lowest Rates: 0 Mr Aly

At #23 is "Baby Love" which originally was sung by Regina in 1986 and became a US Top 10 hit. Dannii covered the song for her debut album "Love And Kisses" and released it as the 4th single in October 1991. For The song was written by Stephen Bray who had written several of her successful hits and was originally meant as a duet between her and Regina, but Madonna declined. For it's single release it was remixed by Steve "Silk" Hurley and became another top 20 hit by reaching #14 on the UK charts in it's 2nd week and spent 6 weeks in total on the charts, 4 of which were in the top 40. In Australia it was released as the album's 5th single and peaked at #26 becoing the 2nd highest charting hit from the album over there. The remixes were very successful in the dance clubs and are credited with giving Dannii a new sound and image for future releases.

22 // Get Into You // Get Into You // Avg: 5.916

Highest Rates: 8 Kellyann, MIKEMYER Lowest Rates: 0 fgi90505

At #22 is another "Get Into You" era single, this time the title track released in May 1994 as the 5th and final single from that album. Strangely enough this came 8 months after her last single was released and written and produced by Mike Percy and Tim Lever. Like most of her singles from this era it failed to make an impact by peaking at #36 in the UK becoming her 9th top 40 hit, and showed no length by dropping to #53 in it's 2nd week, then out completely by the following week. In Australia it performed even worse by limping in at #79 becoming the 3rd song from the album to chart and diminishing sales. Makes me wonder why this was released in the first place, not really a highlight in her discography, and quite pointless given it's no budget music video and non existent promo.

21 // I Can't Sleep At Night // Club Disco & The Hits & Beyond // Avg: 5.923

Highest Rates: 8.5/7.5 Kellyann, Regina, Nick F1 Lowest Rates: 1 fgi90505

Just outside the top 20 is the first of her 2000's dance singles to drop. "I Can't Sleep At Night" was released in January 2007 as a digital download track from her "Hits & Beyond" album, then later on her 5th studio album "Club Disco". The song was written by Dannii herself as well as Rob Davis and Jewels & Stone, along with it's remixes to promote her Greatest Hits album. The music video was released in June 2006 and didn't impact any of the charts, but has become another popular dance hit for her.

'Baby Love' is without a doubt the worst thing she has done. A career low point.

I hope 'This Is The Way' doesn't finish too low, that's so underrated.

20 // I Don't Wanna Take This Pain // Love And Kisses // Avg: 6.125

Highest Rates: 9 Vibe Lowest Rates: 3 Pippa

As we now kick off the Top 20 we lost another debut album era single "I Don't Wanna Take This Pain" which is a personal fave of Dannii herself. It was first released in Australia as the 3rd single in it's original album mix, peaking at a mere #92, then remixed for it's UK release as the 5th single and faring much better by becoming her 5th top 40 hit, peaking at #40 in it's 4th week, before tumbling down to #63 then making a sharp exit out of the charts.

19 // Jump To The Beat // Love And Kisses // Avg: 6.23

Highest Rates: 8/8.5 Kellyann, Acidburn, Vibe Lowest Rates: 3 Pippa

At #19 and a double whammy of the "Love And Kisses" era, "Jump To The Beat", originally sung by Stacy Lattisaw, then covered by Dannii and released as the 3rd single in July 1991. In the UK the song became her 2nd top 10 hit by peaking at #8 and charted even higher in Ireland at #5. In Australia it wasn't quite as successful by peaking at #48. The song was also given a USA release in November 1991, but failed to dent any charts. This is definately one of her finer of her early pop releases, I mean just look at that fantastic cheesy music video, just love it.

18 // He's The Greatest Dancer // Club Disco //Avg; 6.23

Highest Rates: 9 Nick F1, Acidburn Lowest Rates: 2 fgi90505

At #18 is another cover that Dannii does a decent job off, this time it's Sister Sledge's "He's The Greatest Dancer" and given a dance music touch. The single was originally gonna be used as the official Children In Need in 2006, but was dropped in favour of Emma Bunton's "Downtown", when Dannii pulled out of Strictly Come Dancing to be a judge on X Factor. So therefore the single wasn't given a UK release, instead released just to the dance clubs where it became her 11th UK dance chart #1. In Australia the single was given a release in November 2006 and peaked at #37, becoming her 13th top 40 entry in her homeland.

17 // This Is The Way // Get Into You // Avg: 6.291

Highest Rates: 9 Mr Aly Lowest Rates: 3 Kellyann

At #17 is "This Is The Way" released in September 1993 as the 4th single from her 2nd album "Get Into You". After getting back on track with her previous summer hit "TII", this couldn't manage to maintain the success, despite featuring her then boyfriend Julian McMahon in the music video as did the previous, and serving as a sequel to that hit and video also, this fell short by peaking at #27 on the UK charts, making this the 2nd biggest hit from the album. In Australia it missed the top 40 by peaking at #45.

'This Is The Way' really is one of her better earlier ones! It's pretty strong in comparison, anthemic qualities.

I suppose 'He's The Greatest Dancer' is alright as a guilty pleasure, but a pointless cover version.

16 // Success // Love And Kisses // Avg: 6.416

Highest Rates: 11 Vibe Lowest Rates: 3 Pippa

At #16 is "Success" taken as the 2nd single from her debut album "Love And Kisses", the songs lyrics are about the highs and lows of being a celebrity and is also the first song which Dannii co-wrote. In the UK the song became another success for her peaking just outside the top 10 at #11, spending 3 weeks at that peak position, and also entered the top 40 in Australia at #28. It was also critically panned by being labelled rather dated.
