Spinning Adam's Favourite Bi-Weekly Songs (2014-2015)

Top 40 Updated Wednesdays and Sundays (prev. Tuesdays and Saturdays from 15/09/14 to 26/09/15)


In this thread I will be posting my favourite 20/25/30/40 songs of the moment and update them a couple of times a week (usually Tuesdays and Saturdays). A bi-week is half a week (no kidding :lol:) where I post a chart twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays (prev. Tuesdays and Saturdays). It will be different to my Favourite Music thread that list my favourite songs for each year and do not update as often.

How I Compile Charts
I post a top 40 chart on Wednesdays and Sundays (prev. Tuesdays and Saturdays). I also post the top 10 including Popularity Bars which show how closely ranked the positions are. I post the 41-45 positions as an extension which positions are not recorded into my archive or 'last week' positions. I also include BJSC entries (my country is TRIANGLEDONIA) when I vote for them, using orange fonted hashtags to show which country submitted them. Note that the chart runs shown after each position in the charts reflect the bi-weeks, not actual weeks.
I usually discover music in the chart that are doing well, or new tracks from my favourite artists, and sometimes old discoveries make their way in the chart :P

Recently I have decided to restrict how new entries enter my chart. I give a week or two before I allow a new entry to chart, so that I can grow to it and it will be more likely to have a higher debut. Also, I like to keep around 3 to 5 new entries per chart, and a total of 6 to 8 new entries per week. I may hold back some songs from entering if they have a while before being released into the actual chart :jameela:

Please note that I post a top 40 chart twice a week. One of these charts is referred to as a bi-week.

Chart Run Archive

From 07/10/14 onwards, the chart increased to 25 positions long. It then increased to 30 positions for the next season (2015, S1) on 03/01/15. I decided at first to increase to a top 40 on 17/02/15 as a one-off for the BJSC and LarsM tracks, but because I have had more spare time each week I decided to keep it a top 40.

Best Performing Countdowns

Every 15 weeks (30 bi-weeks) I will update my Best Performing Countdown for up to every Season and is sorted by points which are calculated based on song peaks and weeks. See more for each countdown.

I duplicate the charts from here on the Multichart thread, but only the last published chart before the deadline (11:59PM Saturday) counts towards it, which is usually the Saturday chart. These are indicated here in red.

This week sees 7 new entries to the top 20, forcing songs as high as 12 to drop out. MKTO stays at the top with the appropriately titled 'Classic', as well as the top 3 remaining static. David Guetta just misses out on the top 5 climbing from 7 to 6, and Ten Walls and Alesso are seen making big falls from the top 10 this week. Will Robin Schulz prevent MKTO from snatching a third week at the top? Or will Duke make an unexpected climb? Find out later in the week! :D

I can reveal that their are 3 new entries, 2 of which were unpredicted, and that one is a new track from an artist already in the chart, but who could it be? :P

My third Current Top 20 chart. This week we find out if MKTO's Classic has been knocked off the top spot breaking a third week run at #1. The chart sees three new entries and one re-entry. Two of the new entries were added last minute and they could never have been predicted :P . The entire top 5 remains static while MKTO strikes again with a new track, 'Thank You' which enters just outside the top 5. Avicii is just below the duo with Hope There's Someone at 7. Black And Yellow by rapper Wiz Khalifa's second week in the chart gives him a shot just in the top 10, while The Script rewrite themselves at 18. G.R.L. who missed out a place last week just manage the lowest position this week with Ugly Heart.

This week only being 3 days since the last update, there has still been quite a change in the top 20. MKTO's new track Thank You climbs from 6 to 4, while Blame enters the top 10 at 9. Train climbs to 11, and G.R.L. climbs to a new peak of 15. Example and Snakeships are new with 10 Million People and Days With You, entering at 17 and 19 respectively. We say goodbye to Demi and Cher Lloyd who drop out from 12 and 13, respectively.

I'm predicting a lot of the 11-20 range songs are high risk of dropping out on Tuesday, seeing there are some possible new entries in queue :unsure: :(

Still remaining in the top 25 since the first chart for six weeks are 9 tracks. 8 of which remain in the top 20, 6 top 10 and 3 in the top 5. Will Classic be the longest running song since 15/09/2014?

A few more new entries this week :D And after patiently waiting at second best for six weeks, Lily Wood, The Prick & Robin Schulz's Prayer is finally answered. MKTO fall to 2 this week after 6 unbroken weeks at the top since chart compilation. MKTO's 2nd release, Thank You is denied 2nd place and Nelly replaces Duke at #4.
