So I got the inspiration from another forum, but I thought this could be a great topic. It can be anything - entertainment/world/sport etc. - just make sure there's a picture, a bit of context, and they are actually famous/infamous moments that most people would know!

Don't really need context for this, Cassius Clay laying down a KO!

Not sure if this counts, but it represents everything about MUSIC for me. Iconic doesn't even come close.

I think I will go with Jarvis Cocker at the BRITS 1996 stage invasion of Michael Jackson's Earth Song. To think that he actually got arrested for it!

Going for a famous moment in sports (How un-Buzzjack of me!! etc...)

The Montreal Screwjob - Survivor Series 1997

The basis of the story:

QUOTE
Hart, Michaels, and McMahon came to an agreement where the Survivor Series match would end with a disqualification, which under normal rules would result in Hart retaining the title. Hart would then lose or forfeit the title at a later date. However, McMahon decided without Hart's knowledge that Michaels would win the title at Survivor Series. Accounts differ as to who exactly was involved in the plan and the extent of their involvement. The plan was executed when match referee Earl Hebner, on direct order from McMahon, ended the match as Michaels held Hart in the Sharpshooter submission hold, Hart's signature finishing move, even though Hart had not submitted. Michaels was declared the victor by submission and crowned as the new WWF Champion.
Resulted in a falling out for over 12 years!

Thích Quảng Đức's self immolation 11 June 1963 - one of the most powerful photographs of the 20th Century.

I won't replicate the photograph here but it was on the cover of Rage Against The Machine's 1992 debut album and single artwork for "Killing In The Name".

i have just read about this, not knowing beforehand and oh my god. so chilling. the whole process of sitting on the road in complete silence - it brings to mind how someone can have such inner calm and focus to surpass something as painful as that. gave me literal chills.

Surely one of the most infamous moments at a World Cup Final.

All because of Materazzi said something to Zidane about Zidane's sister. A football career ending in disgrace.

The JonBenét case is one of a few U.S. murder cases that I can't get my head around at all. The whole thing was totally bizarre. The Robin Hood Hills case is also one that is equally as bizarre.
