I'm pretty sure Military Wives' margin of victory was a lot larger than that of 'Wake Me Up', it was up against the second week of an XF winner's single that didn't even sell that much (relatively) in its first week, and it had the largest first week sales of any song since Leona Lewis' winning single in 2007. Also 'Wake Me Up' didn't have a huge lead all week, it was underperforming to begin with but then shot to a huge lead after the airing of the documentary on Monday, then Ed had nearly whittled away the entire lead by Friday when it was boosted to a huge lead again by CIN.

Wake Me Up had enough of a lead to be a near-certain number one even without Friday's boost. I think you're right about Military Wives though. You have to remember I'm nearly as old as Donny Osmond cry.gif My memory sometimes fails me sad.gif

Thanks for those extra facts Colin. It's always good to see your lists. It's interesting to see four of the six albums with the most weeks all in the chart at the same time!

Could so easily have been 5 of the 6, as Bob Marley & The Wailers were in the top 75 for quite a while this year (most recently just 5 weeks ago). Meat Loaf's album was also last in the top 75 only 28 weeks ago.
