Tough topic. They do invade privacy but on the other hand, particularly working in a school, I often find they come in use when dealing with liars.

I genuinely don't think they invade privacy. You're in public most of the time, or on a private property - it isn't exactly private. The so-called 'freedom' their existence infringes is nothing compared to the freedom infringed by not having evidence of a crime against you.

I suppose they don't but I think there's a general fear they could. I personally think there should be more and that they keep us safe.

Of course they are, unless you have a fetish of being recorded/on TV drama.gif

It's a shame there are criminals in the first place. No criminals, no need for them. If we got rid of them, we would have more crimes! The world is DOOMED

They've just put up cameras all over our hotel last week, with the intention of catching me making private calls, the cameras pick up sound

I'm not v happy about this obviously as I now have to use the portable and make calls in the toilet and there's 4 cameras in the iamspamspamamibecause a packet of biltong went missing

Then again I'm sure we all are subjected to PETTINESS IN THE WORKPLACE, these days I literally smile and wave for the camera hi.gif

It's not as much an invasion of your privacy as having:

* Your phone illegally tapped.
* Your e-mail correspondence and web activity tracked.
* Your every move tracked by your smart phone.

I'd say it was a necessary evil, however it is a little bit scary that if you live in LDN your whole day could pretty much be documented on camera.
