Chart Highlights
  • Taylor Swift spends her 9th non-consecutive week at #1 with "1989" in just 11 weeks on release. The last album to do so was Usher with "Confessions" in 2004.
  • "1989" is still her second longest running #1 album behind "Fearless" (11 weeks in 2008/2009). "Red" managed 7 weeks in 2012/2013 and "Speak Now" managed 6 weeks in 2010/2011.
  • This week's total album sales were down -22% on last week and down -2% compared with the same week last year. YTD albums are also down (-2%) on last year.
  • Physical CD sales were also down: -20% on last week, -8% compared with the same week last year, and -5% YTD on last year. Same goes for digital sales: -22% on last week, -1% compared with the same week last year, and -3% YTD on last year.

I can't believe over a million people have bought a compilation with a bunch of random old songs just because they were in a 'cool film'. OK a few of them are really good, but still. blink.gif

It's album only but all the tracks can be bought individually off other albums.

Maybe the parents are buying the album laugh.gif
