No piss taking here please!

I'm on about genuine artists that you thought would be much bigger than they actually ended up being..

The three that stick out to me are Erik Hassle, Esme Denters and Little Boots. I was utterly convinced that all three would take off big time.. alas seems I (and many others..) were completely wrong!

I was discussing this last night with Jade, Toby etc - I really thought Natalia Kills was gonna be really big, Mirrors really emphasised that as to this day it sounds massive. Alas, not even close.

I can't think of any other artists off the top of my head but I was certain that 'Goodbye' by Kristina DeBarge was gonna be a worldwide smash aswell and it did sweet f*** all, but that's songs as opposed to artists.

Natalia was the first that came to my mind too, lol. I almost think she was manufactured so meticulously, that it came across disinguine and there were others doing exactly what she was doing but MUCH MUCH better so in hindsight it's no wonder she never made it. 'Mirrors' should have smashed though.

Tinashe is another for me. I know she's had a lot of recognition with her last era, but for what she offers she really deserves to be the next big thing, globally. Still waiting for it to happen (and it WILL!!1).

If Tinashe doesnt happen this era, she never will sad.gif.

I really thought Ciara could have made it big with her last era again.

Foster The People. I thought Pumped Up Kicks would be the beginning, not the be all and end all.

I never expected her to be huge but I don't really understand why Chloe Howl hasn't taken off at all. The material, voice, image, personality are all there.

Also, I agree about Erik Hassle - his songs deserved so much more sad.gif. I've decided it must have been his ridiculous hairdo that thwarted his chances. sleep.gif

See I never got the hype with Natalia Kills. Not once did I ever think she would be big..

Another one has come to mind - Skylar Grey!! After Coming Home I thought she would blow up (as is usually the case) but that never happened.

Tove Lo to an 'extent'. Habits really did take a life of its own in the US (and the Remix here) but bad management is hindering her potential to be MASSIVE. But Talking Body seems to be taking off so I'll keep my fingers crossed for ha *_*

Eva Simons after appearing on Take Over Control and This Is Love I thought was in for a potentially successful solo career. She never happened tho.

Cody Simpson - f***ing dire management meant he never got a push outside of some of Bieber's core fanbase. Perfectly commercial, radio-friendly tracks too.

Yes Natalia Kills of course, when she was being pushed back in 2011 her Gaga image was very in, so I'm surprised that she was never huge. Esmee too with the Justin Timberlake backing. The one that always comes up too; Daisy Dares You who disappeared off the face of the earth. sad.gif

Honestly, Marina & the Diamonds. One major worldwide hit, three smaller hits, and then what? None of the FROOT singles have even gotten to the top 40.

I think it's a little too early to decide on Foxes. She's already amassed one giant smash worldwide with her feature on "Clarity" and she's managed to get a few new hits so we'll just have to wait and see. ("Holding Onto Heaven" missing the top 10 is a criminal act in itself)

Are you actually serious? huh.gif Fair enough that you don't like her music/it's not to your tastes, but to say she "isn't very talented" just seems a bit wtf (and pretty ignorant).

However, I'm still waiting for her "Sia moment", which I'm sure she'll get at some point. But how it's not happened yet, so bizarre. I really thought 'C'mon Let Me Ride' would've been the song to do it for her.

Marina is the only other one that really sticks out to me right now. She has a very solid fanbase, but that's about it. She's somehow failing to crossover to a broader audience. sad.gif

Echoing Foster The People, Chloe Howl and Little Boots! Especially given Little Boot's successful first era, shame Nocturnes didn't live up to it ( I still love it none the less cry.gif ). I thought Union J as a boyband given a launch from X-Factor, might have been a bit bigger but apparently not! laugh.gif

Circle Of One unfortunately going nowhere nocheer.gif

Uh well, Armin van Buuren was like the #1 DJ in the DJ Magazine for ages, but he really lacks success in the UK and only got his first top 10 in 2013 wub.gif
Also, many others but I've probably forgotten them all unsure.gif
