So I was round my mate's the other day and I was dead impressed by this little Roku box that he's got connected to his TV. Does anyone here have one? Would you recommend it? I've done some research and there's a Roku 1, 2 or 3 so I don't know which one I'd get, if I did get one. I'd basically just use it for stuff like Netflix or for watching videos on youtube or vevo playlists etc. I already have a tablet though (one of those little Hudls from Tesco) so I use that for Netflix at the moment, I just connect it to my TV. So then is a Roku box giving me much more than that? Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated!

I have a roku 2. I don't have Internet browsing or youtube, I believe that comes on the 3.

However, I believe it is money well spent. It does everything I need it to do efficiently. I use it for netflix, hulu and blockbuster on demand.

I'd recommend it. Does your tablet stream in HD? If you get one i'd go with the latest edition of course.

Oh right, I wasn't aware you need the 3 for youtube, I just assumed the 3 was a better spec and faster speeds. Not sure I want to spend as much as the 3 costs tbh. No my tablet doesn't stream in HD, I'm not overly obsessed with quality but it would be nice to have HD I guess. Thanks for the reply anyway.

I have the Roku stick and I love it ~ it's much cheaper and streams pretty much everything I need (including YouTube).

This video was the only time I'd previously heard of this thing. (NSFW / cringe central)

So for a moment I thought people in this thread were discussing some sort of lewd pornography device. Lol.

I have an Apple TV rather than Roku but it's not compatible with my wireless network (damn you Eduroam) so it's sort of useless at the moment sad.gif
