IT'S OK GUYS. SHELDON COOPER CAN CLONE HIM! HE HAS HIS DNA TO CREATE HIS OWN!

As I mentioned in my Facebook post, I was never really into 'Star Trek', but his character is one of the most iconic characters of all time. The legacy he has left behind him is insane. A big loss. sad.gif

EDIT: His last tweet 4 days ago is stunning.

Has he been sick recently? This seems very unexpected ohmy.gif Sad news. R.I.P.

He was older than I'd have thought actually (83).

Yeah. I think I read the other day that he was rushed to hospital, but I'm pretty sure I also read that he was fine.

sad.gif This has been the most affected I've felt from a celebrity's death for a long while. I'd heard he was in the hospital but I thought he'd last a bit longer. Really needed a moment. He always seemed like a jovial fellow outside the role and of course his role was ground-breaking.

I've never watched much of the original 'Star Trek' but I like all the others and of course the films so this still hits me hard.

ive been a massive Spock and Nimoy fan since I was 11 years old, when I was 14 and going through bad times at school Spock's philosophy seemed just perfect to me (not letting emotions get the better of you, but being kind, clever and largely-peace-loving and full of wonder), and I hero-worshipped Trek, Spock and Nimoy.

Leonard Nimoy did loads of other stuff I liked, but he was always Spock and always will be, directing the best Trek movie (IV) and even appearing in the latest blockbuster movies with the great new casts, to great effect. I will miss not having him around anymore.

Absolutely iconic character and seemed such a nice guy who inspired many. I'm sure lots of astronaughts have Spock to thank for their choice of career! RIP

I did read about him being rushed to hospital somewhere, so I had an inkling that this may happen, particularly at 83 sad.gif the only character I instantly recognise from Star Trek even though I don't watch it, an icon of Science Fiction culture for sure. RIP.

I had expected this since it was announced he was quite seriously ill last year, but it's still hit me quite hard. I was only a minor fan when James Doohan died, but he was such an iconic character, actor and a truly wonderful man it seems (I SAW him, but never got close at a convention).

Going to watch some Fringe at the weekened in his honour
