For a long long time, I'm talking well over two decades, I have dreamed of making my own Now album with it's own artwork and an exquisitely sequenced track-listing.

So, I did. Well, I did the back cover.

I'm sure there's other compilation makers among us that would love the chance to show off their design and track listing skills.

Here's my work so far.

I did it in Excel.
I am trying to figure out how to do the front cover now biggrin.gif
If anyone wants me to share the fonts, sizes and Excel feature needed, I will post them here.

Comments on my amazing track-listing welcome. smile.gif

The barcode is fake, by the way.

Disclaimer - I have no idea if these songs would all fit on to two cds. I just went for the standard 20 tracks each.

I couldn't even begin thinking about what I would put on one of these things, would be far too difficult to whittle it down to just 40 tracks.

What is the Excel feature, out of interest? I'll probably make mine on Powerpoint but would like to know regardless.

Never thought of making my own Now CD but it's a brilliant idea so thanks for sharing!

If you use a text box you can underlay an image - which I took from a digital art website.
Then I just used a sniping tool to take a screenshot and save as an image.

The textbox needs to be formatted to have No Fill and No Line.

I used three textboxes. One for the 40 TOP CHART HITS and one each for the cds.

There definitely ways of doing it in photoshop or gimp but I'm useless with those.

Powerpoint would actually be easier! biggrin.gif

I can of course email anyone with my Excel sheet and they can just paste in their track listing and image. I guess not everyone has Excel as it's not free.

I made the Virgin/EMI logo from images I took from Google images.

These look really good! I prefer the second one in terms of layout as the 'compact disc 1/2' are aligned, but then I prefer the actual pattern on the design for the first one. laugh.gif But yes both look great, really professional with the font choices!

Some of the Now albums did have mis-aligned track listings like that.

That's very true, especially in some cases as not to overlap with the barcode. But yeah they both look really good anyway, never thought to do anything like this on Excel!

Aw haha thank you, I'm very tempted to do one! I know a few of ours would overlap, namely: 'Teardrop', 'Live Forever' and 'Out of Space', all sublime!

I found software to do the front cover

http://www.presentation-3d.com/products/maker-3d.html
You can get a 10 day free trial. They put a watermark in any image you save so I used a sniping tool to take a screenshot instead

First attempt.

Someone has asked me for the spreadsheet so I've uploaded it to Zippyshare if anyone else needs it (don't all rush at once)
