You will be vaguely missed by someone, somewhere. Maybe.

Time will tell if their new browser (what's the betting it'll be called 'Bing' or some variant thereof?) will be as much of a piece of useless shit. biggrin.gif

Good riddance!

The only thing IE is useful for these days is weeding out people you don't want to associate with. (i.e. those who believe that IE is still a browser worth using)

I was a frequent IE user until Bré showed me the light. Once you go Chrome you can't go back so i am not fussed at this.

My work will crumble with IE. Though it's not really going away is it.. it's more the branding.

Or if you get a macbook, there is literally no use, as it comes with Safari laugh.gif

I use Safari anyway, that's very good.

The new browser seems to be built from scratch rather than simply being an upgrade of IE if I understand correctly, so it's a bit more than just the brand ending.

Well, it had a good drawn-out run.

The feeling of opening it accidentally because you had your settings set wrong or you just hadn't hidden it away well enough was so crushing.

The main thing that pissed me off so much that the unis I went to relied on IE so much and it doesn't allow you to download other browsers so you were stuck with it. I mean it was fine in 2007, but not now, can't say I'll miss it much.

Internet Explorer *shudders* my mum still uses it and continuously complains about it being slow, although I always tell her to use a different one! Bless her technophobe heart.

(Team safari for mac, chrome anywhere else!)

I'm actually a bit sad. I used it a lot until around 2007 (:slowpoke:) when I first discovered Firefox and I only changed to the latter because it seemed "cooler".

I've since used every browser out there and my favourite is Chrome, but honestly if you asked me for my second favourite I'd say IE. Too many fond memories, sounds a bit silly, but yeah.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna miss it purely out of nostalgia. The past few months I've kind of been (maybe prematurely) nostalgic for the artifacts of early-mid '00s internet so this is just another nail in the coffin for that era I guess.

I don't think it will be missed. As someone here already said the only thing it's good for us downloading other browsers which would be Opera for me. IE is far too complicated to even be a good browser in the first place and then factoring in all the problems it's just site and as for chrome it's very unsecure I think.

I use Opera because it's faster than Chrome and just an all round better user experience.
