Doing this poll because I'm bored and have just cooked steak for the first time (woop etc). Just curious as to what people's favourite done-ness of steak is?

I love it medium rare, with a bit of red juice but not exactly mooing. If it's too well done it just saps out all of the flavour, I feel. Also, just had rib eye for the very first time, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. Never eating rump again

"I don't like steak" who da fuq is this?

------

Medium rare <3 It's good enough done more than that but I love the taste it keeps when it's not cooked as much, although I couldn't have it rare.

I tend to go medium-rare / rare - but unless you go somewhere to pay premium, often I can find my steaks are not cooked right.

Definitely don't understand how anyone can find a steak nice, if they have anything above medium!

Is there a 'I don't have enough life experience to have a favourite 'doneness' of steak' option?

Me! Well, really I'm a vegetarian so I suppose that isn't exactly the same. Is any one else a vegetarian here? ohmy.gif

I don't live enough of an extravagant lifestyle to be having Steak regularly but when I do, medium rare is the one. I honestly can't understand how my Dad still orders well done though, pink in the middle truly is the point of no return.

Just for the record, I don't live a particularly extravagant lifestyle and today is the first time I've cooked steak (despite living away from my parents for 5 years!). It just happens to be my meal of choice if I'm eating out!

I've always felt that restaurants in France should offer four options - rare, medium, well-done and English.

Medium/Medium-Rare all the time, can't possibly eat anything other that - Rare just looks too undercooked and red my liking and well done's just too chewy and hard!

Medium rare ftw. If you're gonna have it well done you may as well just order a burger.

Rare! What is the point of medium rare? If you like it juicy go for rare.

It isn't an option, but I usually go for medium-well. I realise that isn't the CORRECT WAY or whatever, but I guess being brought up in such a rural area I just don't gots the time for any meat that isn't at least NOT PINK.
