The news story that has been dominating our papers the past few days is the horrific natural disaster in Nepal. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake amd subsequent aftershocks have devastated Nepal and surrounding countries. Death toll currently stands over 4000 and it's growing by the minute.

This then led to an avalanche at the Everest base which has tallied up the death toll even more.

Really saddening story and it won't be over soon as many are now homeless and still missing. There are ways to help the cause so hopefully we can all do our bit! R.I.P. to the victims sad.gif

Along with the victims and devastation, many sacred buildings and places of deep history are now in rubble. The houses and buidlings can be rebuilt but some of these more monumental places are now lost forever. Gah.

The death toll is still rising sad.gif It is now over 8,000 with some areas still not reached.

Meanwhile, Christiano Ronaldo has gone up in my estimation by donating 5 million to Nepal.

There has been another major earthquake (7.3 magnitude) in Nepal today sad.gif The death toll may be limited because of the number of people living in temporary shelters rather than concrete buildings. Nevertheless, it adds to the misery.

Well done Cristiano Ronaldo on a generous donation.
