On crowded public transport would you give up your seat for a pregnant woman?

Yes, I usually give my seat up for someone who is Pregnant or elderly. I think it is just common sense to do that?

if course! I'd give up a seat to a parent with small children too. I actually just got off a packed jubilee line train, just before a woman came on with a buggey and the train wouldn't let her move into the appropriate buffer spot.

sickens me tbh and not in a drag sense

Yes of course. I do it if someone's pregnant, elderly or has a young child, also if they have loads of heavy shopping or something like that. It's just common decency, it disgusts me when I see people sat at the front and leaving elderly or pregnant people to stand.

I always give up my seat when needed, but what I don't get is why no one ever ASKS. Are people expected to constantly be on the lookout for someone in need? When I had a knee surgery and had to take the bus, I asked kindly and always got a seat.

I was on the train the other day when an elderly gentleman got on and the first thing he did was ask someone sitting in a priority seat for their seat laugh.gif Gave me a laugh because I'd never seen it happen before.

Of course I'd give up my seat if someone needed it or shift over to allow a parent and child to sit together if possible but I will try and avoid designated priority seats if possible

I would prefer to give my seat to the elderly or disabled.

Nobody chooses to get old or disabled. People choose to get pregnant.
Also kids should stand - that's why they get half fare.

Halleloo! If you want a seat don't demand it, just ask. I'm not supposed to know you want one! I'd happily give a seat to anyone (like not even elderly or preggers or anything) if they ask me nicely.

And don't get me started on the whole oh women sit and men stand in buses and shit. It's really f***ing stupid and backwards. Does your vagina make it hard for you to ride a bus standing up?!

So if a woman gets pregnant she gives up her right to sit down?

Is this sarcasm or would you genuinely make an elderly individual with a walking stick and bags of shopping stand up? huh.gif
