The NME will become a free magazine from September. As circulation has fallen below 15,000, this isn't a big surprise. However, this has to be its final chance for survival.

It's certainly an interesting move, and definitely a publication I'll be reading more from now on. I'm glad too because it looked as if it was about to collapse, or go digital only so I'm happy the print run is being increased by so much, it's a big boost for the music press.

NME hasn't entered my conscience - or level of interest - since about early 2009. Pretentious bandwagon hopping which I only ever read in the end for Peter Robinson's 'Versus' column. And then they scrapped that.
