Great pick up line x (If you have any more send them my way plsthx mmkay)

So, besides logging onto Buzzjack and possibly plug.dj in the wee hours of the morning, the bright and happy daytime (???) and all throughout your day up to and including the dead of night (which is when most of the plug.dj action takes place, which may start causing me to hallucinate soon from lack of sleep), what exactly do you actually DO with yourself these days? I’m talking school/uni/work/nothing (lol). Do you enjoy what you do? Is there anything you would change about it (except the pay lol)? Do you dream of doing something else? What subjects/courses are you doing? What are your GRADES like lmao? Did you sleep with your boss to get ahead? etc.

Normally I don’t really like talking about this stuff since I’ve never had an absolutely clear idea of what I really want to do, as well as my abilities, and also I currently HAVE NO JOB (sad.gif) even though I want one, but come on, this is such an integral part of most peoples’ lives.

Me? As I said, not working right now but I just finished a course in May in computers, where everyone thought I was some kind of genius because I pretty much knew everything but to be honest the course was just way too simple. I have the opportunity to do another similar course come September, but to be completely honest, I’m sick of courses and would like to actually earn money for once. I’m looking for jobs but I’m no good for most of them lol, and all the ones I want get filled so quickly ugh. For now, I made a conscious decision to just enjoy the summer and figure out things in the autumn.

Ideally however, I have always dreamt about doing something with music, the arts and performing, but the reality is I’m lazy with my music and don’t seem to have enough patience or ability for it so idk. Also I have slight stage fright.

Ok your turn happy.gif

Yes I woke up really early once again so that’s why I’ve created this thread at 8 am lol.

Edit: I realise a lot of us are on summer holidays but you can still talk about school and uni in terms of what you were doing before the holidays and what you will be doing when the holidays are over etc. Gosh, it really would've been more interesting to create this thread later on in the year sad.gif

I'm looking for a job at the moment, I don't know really but I suppose you feel a bit of pressure to start looking once you turn 16 so I've been scouring the papers/net a bit more than I usually would in the jobs sections in my free time.

In my free-time I really don't do much, I like watching YouTube occasionally when I see something interesting, I subscribe to a few popular gaming channels (like Jacksepticeye and Nerdcubed) and shamefully a few of those vlogger people who people don't seem to view very favourably including people like Tyler Oakley and Tanya Burr because I just think when they're on one they're hilarious laugh.gif Recently I've subscribed to a few Spanish YouTubers too to help me improve my Spanish ready for starting AS in September.

Which brings me nicely into the next topic, school. For AS, I've selected Spanish, Biology, Chemistry and Business which I hope to get depending on grades and potential timetable conflicts. Results day seems to be looming closer which is a lil bit scary now so hopefully it all works out nicely. I'm a bit of a chatterbox/loudmouth in school but I'm also quite nice I think, I'm one of thise students who the teachers are fond of, but not as a student laugh.gif

Hobbies wise I don't do much, I like to watch DVDs and films because it gives you a couple hours to lie down and enjoy the action unfold, my movie choices of late are superhero movies because I got loads of the cheap in town.

So yeah.

I have a feeling you have also been studying something to do with computers? tongue.gif

tbh I don't really like studying computers very much, I like to find out computer stuff intuitively on my own.

I work in research finance for one of the worlds oldest universities. I'm so over my job and the bullshit office politics. They are paying for my professional qualification so I can't complain because that's pricey as f***. When you take into account the qualifications I'm on a fairly good wage, plus the fact that I'm an assistant warden at one of the halls means I get heavily subsidised rent. Currently I'm paying £0/month over the summer but when term starts again I'll be paying about £115/month and that includes 7 meals a week so it's a good deal. I also get a really good holiday allowance. We got a couple of extra days for the open this year so I've had between 6 and 7 weeks paid holiday this year!

My dream job, professionally, would be to be a consultant that assists struggling businesses to turn things around and helps them stay afloat. In a euromillions winning world, I'd be a storm chaser in the states.

Whaaaaat, that's so good!

I'm working as a designer of children's books at the moment which is pretty fun. Means I get to read lots as part of my job (even if they are kids' books haha) which I love. Get to work with some great illustrators and it's always great seeing the finished book at the end of it! The pay is pretty poor which is the main downside..plus I'd rather do something which involves being out and about more, it's a bit depressing just sitting in front of a computer screen most of the day! I guess that's my own fault studying graphic design at uni though haha.

I am currently without work, but thats because I decided to leave my old job a couple of months before starting my new one for no reason Other than wanting time to be a lazy hoe. I was working for an IT Consultancy in a technically untitled role, but basically office person. I've got a job as a rep starting in September. It's pretty much exactly what I wanted to do as soon as I chose Pharmacy as my degree. I have a 6 month trial period, but if all goes well they'll give me it full time. Yay.

haha but living in 'one of the sunniest most vibrant cities in the world' surely makes up for it!

Like I've not managed to find a job this summer and your options become quite narrow when you're only here for 5 weeks (apparently not mentioning that you're leaving after that time is acceptable?! I don't think I'll get updated references that way). When you've not been in the country for more than 3-4 weeks per year since 2012 then sadly your social circle REALLY shrinks too and I'm having trouble readjusting.

But yeah if anyone has any advice about being productive in the south of the Peak District then pls let me know. Ta.

Also my image comes from Black Mirror: White Christmas which I really recommend watching.

I'm really loving that I chose to qualify with CIMA, even though its more specialised, as I think I get to use my business acumen a bit more that I would have if i'd gone down the normal accounting route to become a Financial Accountant

Downside is 1 night in every 12 I'm in charge of the welfare of 1,500 uni students. Everything from flat disputes to self harm and every possibly thing in between. If I'm still doing it next year I won't pay any rent at all. funky.gif

That sounds like a lot of fun! Is it a fairly tough industry to get work in these days?
