A massive 52 members of Buzzjack have rated here - so thanks everyone for entering, it makes the results all the more fun to compile and hopefully interesting to read.

I've worked out the scores for all 17 songs and though we have a very strong top 10, which shows how perfect Lana can be, there are some casualties outside the top 10 cry.gif . I'm going to do the first set of results tomorrow evening (Well, technically today - Sunday).

In the meantime, can I have some top 10/5 predictions?

Can't see past a National Anthem win here. Video Games is arguably her signature track though it's unfortunately prone to a few harshly low scores, while NA seems like it would get consistently high scores (idk, I didn't look through the whole thread or anything so that's really just a guess)

Would like to see Young & Beautiful be the dark horse here~

Would like a National Anthem victory with Video Games & Born To Die making up the top 3. Seems like it could potentially happen.

17th: Blue Velvet
Average: 5.15

High By The Beach; Insomnio (9), Acidburn (9)
Born To Die; jafetsigfinns (-1), dandystar (0), LeeWallace (0), J▲hq (0), · ketalina · (2), Henderella (3), Nick F1 (3), ℓindsey ♫ (3), Parallel Reality (3)

Finishing last is a cover of The Clovers’ cult classic ‘Blue Velvet. This was a promotional single, used for an H&M ad campaign, and while the song perfectly fits Lana’s tones, it’s a bit of a non-event and it’s abysmal score of 5.15 only highlights that despite the song actually making the top 75 here in the UK. The video is indeed cute, but it’s essentially just an advert of H&M. Next.

16th: Burning Desire
Average: 5.57

High By The Beach; Riser (8), dandystar (8), Cremey (8), Cal (8)
Born To Die; John-James (-1), Kl▲mzee (0), LeeWallace (2), J▲hq (2), Jay (3)

Another promotional single here, this time for a ‘Jaguar F-Type’ car, which is perfectly matched with the lyrics ‘we drive fast...’ and a very basic video of Lana behind a red curtain with the odd shot of a car. For what it is, an album reject chucked out because of a Jaguar sponsor, I don’t think this is that bad, for one it’s actually an original song and for another it has a melody and hook that are vaguely memorable. It wasn’t known by many, and loved by even less in this rate finishing at 16th and still not even making an average of 6.

15th: Shades of Cool
Average: 5.67

High By The Beach; Nlly. S (11), toxic_air (10), Bré (10), Josh (10), Ultraviolence1989 (9)
Born To Die; J▲hq (1), Henderella (1), LeeWallace (2),Vülker (3), Kl▲mzee (3), Cremey (3)

The third and final song that couldn’t manage a 6 average, even with it being the first song to leave to score a coveted 11 (from Nelly), is ‘Shades of Cool. This just leaves ‘West Coast’, ‘Ultraviolence’ and ‘Brooklyn Baby’ remaining from the Ultraviolence album. ‘Shades of Cool’ is another somewhat dreary number, but I say that with some positivity (if that’s possible) as I do quite like it. It wasn’t sent to radio here in the UK, but it was a moderate success in several countries, peaking top 40 in the likes of France, Belgium, Italy and Spain. Ultraviolence was seen as many as a dip in quality from Born to Die, but ‘Shades of Cool’ is easily within the better half of the album. Upon its release it received critical acclaim from critics, with Rolling Stone saying “would be perfect for a James Bond film directed by Quentin Tarantino.” (Thanks Wiki). Either way, I can’t see it having done much over here beyond its #144 shame peak, so I don’t care much that it wasn’t pushed.

14th: Once Upon a Dream
Average: 6.15

High By The Beach; Regina (10), Simon. (10), KWEEN_DEE (10), Acidburn (10), Ultraviolence1989 (9.5), Chez Wombat (9), Insomnio (9), ℓindsey ♫ (9)
Born To Die; Henderella (2), Kl▲mzee (2), dandystar (2), Jade (3), JosephBieber (3), jafetsigfinns (3), J▲hq (3)

When I first heard Lana was going to be covering this for Maleficent, I was quite intrigued, as on paper, it sounded rather perfect. Sadly, in reality is was as uneventful and disappointing as the film itself. Okay, it wasn’t that bad, but it really didn’t add much the the original and it has in fact managed a decent handful of good scores in this rate. Though, it still falls short of the top ten or even managing a 7 average. Will the other soundtrack song ‘Young and Beautiful’ make the top 10?

Nelly having the floppiest Lana taste tongue.gif Poor ha

I found "Shades Of Cool" quite pedantic after a bunch of listens and the initial hype went off. It's still magical though.
