I know there have probably been loads of threads like this before but I haven't seen one recently so yeah lol

I'm a really anxious person, and on my twitter I never post selfies or anything like that. I only tweet like once a week or something, and only really my closest friends see it. I'm shy about my face and stuff like that, and one of my biggest fears is people seeing my face or hearing my voice (which sounds horrible on camera) and me being embarrassed.

Does anyone else have huge fears?

Brayden leaving me

I will avoid going for something like 'the future' or 'death' as they're both obvious ones. The main ones that are sticking out are phobias really: confined spaces are terrifying to me for instance (e.g. lifts or packed crowds) as well as rollercoasters/things of that nature that involve heights and spiders. All common ones I guess, I can't really think of something a bit more deep right now.

Oh I also generally don't like going on webcam like you either (except in private) though I wouldn't say it's a fear.

Extreme social awkwardness. I just want to hide in a cave and never come out.
Being crushed to death, or even worse, being trapped there forever in a small space, unable to breathe or move. I've had nightmares close to this and they are terrifying.
If I get another one tonight Andrew you're dead.

One of my greatest fears is being buried alive. I saw tombs once, and I could see scratch marks from people who'd been buried inside when they weren't dead, and we're trying to scatch their way out. That was quite unnerving.

Agreed. Those Captain Jack Harkness "death" scenes make me cringe.

Heights are probably the main one. I don't mind when within walls or a building, but the thought of being on an open clifftop or helicopter terrifies me. Also, you feel a bit alone and vulnerable when you're so up high, tis why I still get quite jumpy when flying.

Oh and Wasps. Can never be in the same room as one, that low buzzing is enough to make me jump out of my skin.

It's a highly irrational fear, but I hate being in really exposed wide open spaces next to a large object. So for example, my cycle to school used to be across a really flat tree-less expanse with a huge transmitter in the middle with the road going right past. I had to almost close my eyes and not look around when I was up there apart from at the road as it used to freak me out.

Looking out to sea last night from the pier wall gave me a similar fear - it's really open exposed places with no protection (even if I'm with people) that brings it on. Bizarre.

This almost slipped my mind but it's the massive one! Not my own as such and not just blood, anything medical in general. All stemming from passing out in science class in year 10. Any discussion on anything medical can have me feeling uneasy and I had to lie down in hospital the other week whilst the nurse went through the consent form because I was getting a sweat on. drama.gif

Wasps and to a lesser extent bees are my other one. And the thought of never having the chance to drive trains again in future (last day of a 7 week placement today sad.gif).

Spiders. I could legit cry if one falls on me.
A few weeks ago, I had to literally KICK a plant out of my house via an open window, because there was a spider in it and I was affraid of coming close to it with my hands and nobody replied to me SOS's mellow.gif

Crowds/public places I get a fear of often. Doesn't help getting having vertigo even on the nicest of places such as the beach.
Spiders - this is common though. I'm ok with small spiders but huge to medium? puke.gif
Cemeteries
Blood
being judged /observed in social situations. Kinda goes with my first one listed really. - to do with social anxiety I guess.
Heights.
Have to switch a hallway light on when im sleeping otherwise I feel claustrophobic.

SPIDERS cry.gif Although I can easily hold a tarantula, if a house spider comes anywhere near me I completely freak out. There are always loads of big big spiders at work too, its so bad that I literally refuse to go some places in work because there might be a spider, which my work mates find hilarious rolleyes.gif

I also fear social situations. I don't care if i'm in a room with 2 people or 2000, I will feel uncomfortable, I hate talking on the phone and the thought of public speaking makes me sick. One of the worst feelings in the world is when you're with a group of people who you don't know (like starting a new job or something) and they're all asking you questions, all innocently just trying to get to know you, but when I'm in that kind of situation I just want to disappear.
