QUOTE Busted fans: it’s time to finally stop sleeping with the light on. It looks as if the band is definitely getting back together – and we won’t have to wait until the year 3000 for a chance to see them live. DY. ING.The image below, promising a special announcement on November 10, has just been released to press. Earlier today, The Telegraph heard rumours that Ticketmaster is preparing staff for a rush on tickets when Busted announce a nationwide comeback tour next week. Known for pop-punk hits such as Year 3000, Air Hostess and What I Go to School For, Busted split in 2004, when singer and lead guitarist Charlie Simpson (who made heavy eyebrows cool years before Cara Delevingne) left to pursue new musical interests. In 2013, remaining band members James Bourne and Matt Willis joined with the group McFly to form a hybrid group, McBusted. After a sell-out UK tour in 2014, during which the band performed songs by both Busted and McFly, McBusted went on to support One Direction, and began work on a new album, released this December. Last month, however, diehard Busted fans eager to see the trio in its original form had their appetites whetted by rumours that Simpson was planning to re-join his old group. "Busted are re-forming by the end of the year and Charlie is part of the band again. It's amazing because Matt and James have always said there's more chance of pigs flying than Charlie coming back to Busted," a source told The Sun newspaper. "But this is something that has been secretly discussed for a number of months – it was important the three guys felt they could work together again and get along as friends." A recent instagram post by Mcfly member Tom Fletcher also hinted that an reunion might be on the cards. Despite the widespread speculation, and the new poster, Simpson has not confirmed the news (has he changed his mind? How can he do this to us, it’s just so unkind?). The Telegraph has contacted representatives for a comment on the latest rumours. OMFG. OMFG. OMFG. |

Busted May 2016 tour dates:
Wed 11th The SSE Wembley Arena, London Sat 14th The SSE Hydro Arena, Glasgow Sun 15th Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle Tues 17th Sheffield Arena Weds 18th Capital FM Arena, Nottingham Fri 20th Genting Arena, Birmingham Sat 21st Manchester Arena Sun 22nd Echo Arena, Liverpool Tues 24th Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff Weds 25th BIC, Bournemouth Sat 28th The O2, London Mon 30th The SSE Arena, Belfast Tues 31st 3Arena, Dublin “ QUOTE A year ago James and I got together and just started hanging out … and it felt really different, somehow, to how it had ten years ago. And the idea crept into my head after all that time apart: what would Busted look like today?” – Charlie Simpson
It’s the reunion they said could never happen – even the members themselves have admitted it. But today Busted announce their return to the world of pop in 2016. Matt, James and Charlie are returning to the road with a full UK arena tour, and they are working on brand new Busted music for the first time since 2004. “For me, there’s a huge sense of unfinished business … I always thought in my heart we’d do Busted again, but that it was just a matter of when and how” – Matt Willis Wednesday 11th May 2016 will be their first show together in 12 years – and the first time in 12 years anyone will be able to see the three members play all their greatest hits together live – among them the simply huge, unforgettable smashes “What I Go To School For”, “Crashed The Wedding”, “You Said No”, “Air Hostess” and “Year 3000.” For the gig Busted will return to the home of their biggest triumph, the venue where anybody last saw them – Wembley Arena. It was here that they broke a record in 2004 by selling out an incredible 12 shows. And it’s here that they will make their long overdue comeback. “We’ve done this crazy, exciting, adventurous, scenic route back to being Busted. And now we’re here, we’re all super-re-energised” – James Bourne With an incredible five million record sales, two 4 x platinum albums and four number one singles to their name, a staggering 700,000 concert tickets sold in one year, two BRIT Awards and a Record of the Year Award, Busted are one of the biggest home-grown pop acts of the 21st century. Busted? These boys are fixed, back and ready to shake up the pop world all over again. This post has been edited by Maurice Horan: Nov 10 2015, 10:26 AM |

Wow Some ambitious venues too, I wonder how fans of Fightstar fans will take the news...
I never cared for them THAT much but they had a couple of killer singles, namely What I Go To School For, You Said No, Crashed The Wedding and Thunderbirds. |

This is something I never anticipated could possibly happen! Wow that next year will mark 12 years since they last toured/released music.
I actually love You Said No & Who's David. I quite like most of the other singles. At the time I wouldn't have considered myself to be a fan of theirs, but they are a part of an era of pop that I look back on fondly. New music... that'll be interesting. Yessss. Wembley AND The O2, wow. Could try to do both but I really fancy going to Wembley, first show in 12 years etc.
S Club 7 and Busted (and later McFly) were my childhood so now I can tick both off I never cared for them THAT much but they had a couple of killer singles, namely What I Go To School For, You Said No, Crashed The Wedding and Thunderbirds. Not this Year 3000 snubbage. That was always my fave |

Really surprised at this. There is obviously a financial element behind the decision though, certainly from Charlie's perspective.
Speaking of dollar, is it just me thinking that James can surely afford something better than a Golf to get him to Wembley? |

If Charlie goes back into Busted he'll be a total laughing stock. Singing What I Go To School For- after Fightstar....

^ It's not a case of if, it's happened!
http://www.hungertv.com/feature/the-interview-busted/ Hunger: Matt and James have spoken about keeping the door open but for you, Charlie, you’ve been really vocal about the fact that it would never happen. You’re going to have to address that to a lot of people. How are you feeling about that? Charlie: I’ve said on a number of occasions in the past that I’d never do Busted again and every time I said that I absolutely meant it. I was kind of surprised when James and I started hanging that we started talking about this. I was as shocked as anyone but it was a very gradual process. // We were very young. Ten years is a long time and I wanted to do what I did with Fightstar and my solo stuff. I needed to do that to be able to come back and arrive at this point. It kind of feels like a new dawn has broken and it’s strange; it’s not something I ever thought would happen. |

Interesting!
'Sleeping With The Light On' and 'Year 3000' were the only two I properly liked, the former was actually a legitimately great song. |

I'm almost in two minds about this, and here's why. McBusted was excellent because - and I know myself when I went to their tour this year - there was a certain magic about it all. What stuck with me the most was seeing James and Matt's faces like 'OH MY F***ING GOD, WE ARE BACK DOING THIS AGAIN AND HAVE SOLD OUT THE O2 ARENA AND HYDE PARK'. Which when you consider both of them had a tough time really after the split, that was really special to see.
And where I'm not at ease is that despite the quotes to the contrary above, Charlie being back is a bit alien at the moment. Especially when he spent so long reading from the Mel C book of 'How to dismiss that you were ever in a pop band and be taken seriously'. I'll reserve judgement for now but right now this is all a bit Robbie being back in Take That. On a plus side though VEVO have put up the HQ videos of Year 3000, Crashed the Wedding and Air Hostess. |

Mel C always strikes me as the Spice Girl proudest of her time in the band! She always goes on about the Spice Girls and I'm sure she's usually first to sign up to reunions, if not the instigator. And she had the most successful solo career of all of them too besides Geri.

Oh she definitely is now. But right up until a week before their press conference Mel C was always very point blank 'I don't wanna do it'. I'd say she was probably less wanting to be known as a Spice Girl during the 'Northern Star' era of her solo stuff ('Goin' Down' era specifically...)

SO excited for this. Really hoping we get some sort of music announcement/a premier date soon! 'Meet You There' has hit me SO HARD since the reunion happened.
Just thought I'd post this as it's not been posted in here. Matt sounds great! |

I LOVE that Abbey Road performance. They should do like a Greatest Hits package with a few new songs and an unplugged bonus disc as they more than hold their own acoustically.
