With the classic book series getting a revamp on the silver screen, let's reminisce about the original. Did you grow up reading these (at times not-very) horrifying books from R. L. Stine? Which was your favourite? Share your memories <3

I was utterly obsessed with the franchise growing up and had a fair few of them which i'd read over and over again. Also had the theme park board game and a few VHSs. A really unique series for me and went along with my fanaticism for horror and the macabre cinema. My favourites were 'One Day at HorrorLand', 'The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight', 'Ghost Beach' and 'Night of the Living Dummy' although from what I remember the TV episode of 'Why I'm Afraid of Bees' scared the shit out of me the most mellow.gif Probably loads i'm forgetting too!

The film is great btw biggrin.gif (but me and UV watched it LQ on rabbit)

I still own a couple of books actually ohmy.gif I think one was called Deep Trouble and another one had a cover with skeleton piano hands or something laugh.gif

I don't read books any more as I just can't concerntrate on what I'm reading and end up rereading the same page over and over again laugh.gif I am trying to get into audiobooks though.

And I've never seen the Tv series.

I have quite of few of these books at the attic, I loved them. Loved the TV series but Are You Afraid Of The Dark was so much better.

Were the books a mix of ones you could read cover-to-cover and ones where you'd flip to a page depending on the action you wished to take? I think I had some of both but I was obsessed with the latter the most <3

Every episode is on Netflix. I watch that and an episode of Benidorm before bed (when I'm not entertaining or knackered LOL).

Be Careful What You Wish For is my fave.

I can't remember this being the case unsure.gif

Random~ but I used to love running my finger up and down the front cover and indulging in the bumpy/3D effects they had blush.gif

I LOVED Give Yourself Goosebumps, I had the waxwork museum one, I'm pretty sure I never completed as I always died though kink.gif

I also used to have the Goosebumps books as a collection, they legit terrified me just from the covers as a child! I think my favourite was Chicken Chicken, if just for the absurdity of it all. Also loved the TV episode of One Day at Horrorland (which was hilarious looking back :'))

I remember reading the books as a youngster, but I really enjoyed the tv show too! My favourite/the one that legit shit me up was the one where the little girl was struggling to get her Halloween mask off! Terrifying!

I'm sure wasn't there a lot of editing of some episodes when BBC showed the episodes on CBBC?
