BUZZJACK'S FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SONGS 2015

will one of the three UK chart faves [above] top the list?

One of the big things about Christmas time is, of course, the music. Whether you love or hate the Christmas classics it's incredibly hard to avoid hearing them.

If there's one thing BuzzJack love, it's a big rate - so here is one!

Firstly, nominations. Nominate any song (no more than 25) that is Christmassy enough for the list and that is not in the list of 20 songs widely considered to be Christmas favourites on BuzzJack and/or real life that I've compiled below.

AUTOQUALIFIERS
  • Andy Williams - It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year
  • Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas?
  • Bing Crosby - White Christmas
  • Brenda Lee - Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree
  • Chris Rea - Driving Home For Christmas
  • Elton John - Step Into Christmas
  • Frankie Goes To Hollywood - The Power Of Love
  • Gabriella Cilmi - Warm This Winter
  • Greg Lake - I Believe In Father Christmas
  • John Lennon & Yoko Ono and The Plastic Ono Band with the Harlem Community Choir - Happy Xmas (War Is Over)
  • Jona Lewie - Stop The Cavalry
  • Leona Lewis - One More Sleep
  • Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You
  • Paul McCartney - Wonderful Christmastime
  • Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone
  • Slade - Merry Xmas Everybody
  • The Pogues - Fairytale Of New York (feat. Kirsty MacColl)
  • The Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping
  • Wham! - Last Christmas
  • Wizzard with the Stockland Green Bilateral School First Year Choir - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

*I was going to use the term 'classics', but as good as One More Sleep is I can't call it a classic just yet. Same with 'Warm This Winter' I guess but that's been around for a while now.

Love these thanks for the topic!

I think any modern (female) pop stars who remake classic songs like Last Christmas etc shouldn't be added only the most popular. Although I understand sometimes 2 artists do equally popular versions eg SCICTT was successful and still played versions by The Crystals, Jackson 5 & Bruce Springsteen.

The Darkness - Christmas Time.
Las Ketchup - The Ketchup Song (Christmas Remix) laugh.gif
Destiny's Child - 8 Days Of Christmas.
Spice Girls - Christmas Wrapping.
I forget everytime... Is it The Pretenders that sing 2000 Miles?
Somebody that sings - Stop The Calvary. (Jona Lewie maybe?)
Flying Pickets - Only You.
Godney Spears - My Only Wish.
Kelly Clarkson - Underneath The Tree.

I'm sure there is more, some Christmas songs are actually brilliant pop songs. wub.gif

Guys, as much as I ADORE Mad World. Are we REALLY classing this as a festive Christmas song? If it was released in May, would we be classing it as a Christmas song?

Interesting though.
