It's a slightly boring week for both charts this week unfortunately. The X Factor Winner 2015 will likely be a strong contender for #1 with their debut single, released Sunday night, but beyond that, it's all very limited. The 1975 will debut somewhere with instant grat 'Ugh!', with Wretch 32 featuring Anne-Marie and PRGRSHN aiming for a new entry with 'Alright With Me'. Shawn Mendes may finally enter the top 40 with 'Stitches' and Sia could re-enter with 'Alive', plus we could see continued climbs from Years & Years with 'Eyes Shut', 99 Souls featuring Destiny's Child & Brandy with 'The Girl Is Mine', and Robin Schulz featuring Francesco Yates with 'Sugar'.

The album chart is even less interesting, with a top 2 of Adele and Coldplay looking very likely, with Justin Bieber, Elvis Presley, Jess Glynne and Little Mix following in some order. New albums released this week include 'Art Angels' by Grimes and 'The Buffet' by R. Kelly but high debuts for both look quite unlikely in this high sales period. X Factor performances could boost One Direction, Fleur East and Ben Haenow also.

Thanks Joseph, I just like to add, please note the new breakdown of the week and other notes, in the opening post, notably for new comers to the forum, how things work.

Also I like to add, as from 21st Dec to the 4th Jan chart info will be very scarce with Xmas Day and New Years Day falling on a Friday, your best friend will be OCC and social media forums for any chart info. Hopefully in between Radio 1 will transmit a year to date chart at the end of the month.

Hoping Kylie Christmas can move top 15 this week, but not selling too well yesterday and today... Hopefully Strictly promo can help.... I would love it to stay top 20 this week if it cant go top 20..... a lot of it depends on a few pricing strategies at the right time.

Album should go Silver this week and I am hoping she can try and get it to Gold by year end.

Fleur really needs the help from X Factor this weekend if she wants to manage half decent sales of her album.

I doubt that there's gonna be a huge boost for Hello. It lost a lot of sales this week and is now doing very ordinary numbers. It might return to #3 at best behind the winner's single and Love Yourself. I think even the boost for 25 is going to be less than people expect. She should be doing When We Were Young instead which has its whole chart life ahead of it, and I think doing a new song would make the album sell more than it will.

It will be interesting to see how the Thursday cutoff point this year will affect the total sales of the X Factor's winner single. I can't see it doing more than 150-200k, and I think even 150k is a stretch.

The album chart will be stale but I find it much more interesting and satisfying to see sales wise at this time of the year. Hopefully Purpose will do +100k which will make four albums sell over that amount this week alongside Adele, who would be on roughly 400k-ish without The X Factor; hopefully her performance can take that supposed amount to 500k. Coldplay should do another 150-200k, with Elvis on maybe 100-125k and Justin as aforementioned above 100k too.

Adele will clearly be no1 and I suspect Coldplay will be no2. Sales figures will be interesting.

Singles wise, I wonder whether X Factor winner will have enough pulling power this year to reach number one given the shows further drop in ratings.

The drop in ratings isn't as big as the media make out so I imagine it will quite comfortably make #1 tongue.gif It will likely only have to do 120k to get #1.

The ratings drop isn't massive this year but I think it's significant when you compare this years ratings to 5 or 6 years ago which show there has been an audience drop of 50%. The show has clearly lost its grip but given the lack of competition apart from Bieber, I expect the winner will be number one next week but Bieber might claw it back in time for Christnas week.

Hoping all of the songs mentioned in the OP can get good climbs this week. Need to hear The 1975 song and I hope the X Factor winner one is good even though I don't follow it. It is usually good anyway biggrin.gif

Interested in how much Adele will sell this week. I think she could possibly hit the 500k mark. She has the UK X-factor final tomorrow, increased sales due to being closer to Christmas and then she'll have the NBC special on Monday in the US (I'm sure it'll have a small effect in the UK).

I've asked this before, but why would the NBC performance have any effect on album sales in the UK? It's not on any UK TV channels.

Social media! James Corden's Carpool Karaoke is only shown on his Late Late Show in the US but through YouTube and Facebook/Twitter, it kickstarted the top 40 run for Iggy Azalea's Trouble, for example.

The internet. Anything airing in the US you can watch via the internet. There'll likely be a lot of social media buzz around the special too, which'll have a small knock on effect in the UK.

I'm pretty confident it'll be uploaded to youtube in some form or another (Whether it be performances on her vevo channel, or the whole program on NBC's youtube channel etc).

I am hoping Kylie Minogue can get some sales boost as 10.6m people watched the Strictly Results Show last Sunday.... All depends on the song she chooses too...... we will know when it is recorded today... hoping for Everyday's Like Christmas

Kylie should certainly get a boost given Strictly is one of the most popular TV shows right now.
