Welcome to Round 15 of Least Fave Disney Animated Classic and the 35th movie to bow out is none other than "Cinderella" and coming as a total shock, seeing this bow out at this stage and given that it's one of Disney's best loved and most well known fairy tales ever. Wow it's hard to believe that this is 66 years old and at the time Disney were experiencing hard times with a string of flops (mainly due to World War II) and being $4 Million in debt, and if this failed at the box office, then Disney studios would have had to close down. Costing nearly 3 Million to make, "Cinderella" became a massive success with over $263.6 Million grossed worldwide and therefore saving the studio. Earlier this year it was given a big budget remake with an all star cast such as Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Stellan Skarsgard, Richard Madden and Lily James playing the title role, and again became a smash hit with over $542 Million dollars grossed worldwide and earned rave reviews, successfully bringing in a whole new generation to this wonderful fairytale.

For the first 10 rounds it didn't score any votes and didn't score more than 2 for the last 3 rounds, but in the last round it scored 5 votes, which was surprisingly the highest amount, but at least it still managed to finish in the top 20 here. The 2nd highest amount of votes is a 4 way tie between "Dumbo", "Robin Hood", "The Hunchback Of Notre Dame" and "Mulan" which each scoring 3 votes, so could any of them be contenders to voted out in this round. "Tangled" picked up 2 votes, while "Bambi", "Lady and the Tramp" and "Frozen" each scored 1 vote each.

It's also worth pointing out that "Snow White", "Sleeping Beauty" and "The Little Mermaid" are the only ones not to gain any votes in any of the previous rounds so far, but could all that change soon, who knows.

20th Cinderella = 5 Votes

Well what can I say that's already hasn't been said. Firstly I just love it, a true classic Disney gem and this was actually the first Disney movie I saw in the cinema as a child and loved it even then. The story itself is as old as time and everybody must know it by now and while it may be a typical story, it just works on every level. For a start you gotta admit that this is well and truly iconic. Now that I'm older I can also really see how wonderful it is, with it's impressive animation that is timeless and it's hard to believe that this came out in 1950, I mean just look at that transformation scene. Another thing that makes this work is the characters, firstly Cinderella, she was just a nice wonderful person who doesn't deserve the bad treatment she receives and it was truly heartwarming when she gets her happy ending. Then there's Lady Tremaine the wicked stepmother, who just steals every scene she's in, with her dark and apposing presence and then there's the ugly stepsisters who were just a whole load of fun and twisted, even the mice were great and okay the Prince doesn't really have much of a role here, but that's okay because it's Cinderella's story and in the 2015 remake he was given a much larger role, so it all kinda works out in the end. So in all a timeless classic that will never be forgotten.

So then 19 left, same rules apply just vote for your least fave by the next round, which will be on Wednesday 23rd December and thanks for all your support so far Buzjack.

One down, another one to go! 'Sleeping Beauty' pleaseeee! Really not a fan of how "basic" a couple of the Princess stories are!

Sleeping Beauty is possibly the most beautifully animated of all Disney films! The backgrounds are lush. heart.gif

Went for Robin Hood. Haven't voted in a while and am SHOCKED AND APPALLED at the lowly placings for Fantasia, Emperor's New Groove and Hercules. AH WELL.

I am not *huge* on the "princess" ones, but 'Sleeping Beauty' is easily my favourite of them. I love how dark it is and how genuinely terrifying it is at times. I'd be going for 'Snow White' before that even if it is the most definitive animated film ever.

RIGHT THIS IS TOO HARD. I think I need to go for either 'Tangled' or 'Dumbo' but as the former won't be going i've gone for the latter. Can we target 'Tangled' next please? cheer.gif
