I expect a Mariah Carey win here, though I hope Wizzard can put up a fight!

Pogues will probably finish criminally low sad.gif

Former Big Brother contestant Mr Showbiz decided to release a Christmas song which is probably the most marmite release of the year. Although more people seem to hate it than love it, as it finishes last with an average of just over 2/10.

King of the UK Chart, Justin Bieber, finishes 2nd to last with his effort from a few years ago. It seems most haven't warmed to it over the years as it gets a lot of zeroes.

Two pointless covers of 'Christmas Wrapping' that shouldn't exist both end up in the bottom ten. The Saturdays, the worse of the two, finish at #58 and the biggest girlband of the 90s, Spice Girls, get their cover to #55.

Speaking of cover versions, 'Last Christmas' is here twice as well. Cascada's great version of it is sadly as low as #56, and the recent Carly Rae Jepsen cover which isn't up to much finishes at #51, perhaps it's only so high due to its recency.

Finishing below both covers is the singer of the original version, George Michael, who finishes at #57 with 'December Song' which was a minor chart hit in 2009.

Geraldine McQueen aka Peter Kay is at #54 with an uneventful song. One place above is Ariana Grande whose 'Santa Tell Me' is one of the most streamed recent Christmas hits. That success doesn't translate to BuzzJack where it finishes in the bottom 10.

At #52 is another girlband, Girls Aloud, but this time with an original song which is actually quite good. Clearly their big fanbase weren't out in full force as it leaves us very early on.

heart.gif UltraChristmas (10.0), GingerbreadHaus, Christmaseve201 (9.0)
puke.gif MerryFlynnmas (-1.0), Mistle-Tony (0.0)

The original version of 'Walking In The Air' leaves us at #50. How high can Aled Jones' version get though?

Some Christmas ~classics~ already leave us this section too, such as former Christmas #1s 'Lonely This Christmas', 'Mistletoe & Wine' and 'When A Child Is Born' at #43/45/46, proving that even the big-sellers aren't safe in this rate.

Underrated Christmas tune 'A Spaceman Came Travelling' finishes at #49, one place behind Mariah's more recent and floppy Christmas song. Other Christmas flops also here like '8 Days Of Christmas' at #47 and 'Where Are You Christmas' at #44, which somehow gets 2 elevens.

Also some very old songs, at the top of the section in the form of Beach Boys and Nat King Cole's festive offerings.

Good to see the silly versions of Last Christmas and Christmas Wrapping in the bottom 10 don't see the point of them, sad December Song is so low, such a lovely ballad. But it doesn't seem to be popular amongst the younger generation.

35 6.50 Elton John - Step Into Christmas
heart.gif Qween, MerryFlynnmas (10.0)
puke.gif Gingerbread Cam, Mistle-Tony (1.0)

36 6.47 Darlene Love - All Alone On Christmas
heart.gif _____, UltraChristmas, Griff (9.0)
puke.gif Mistle-Tony (0.0)

37 6.39 Coldplay - Christmas Lights
heart.gif Christmaseve201 (11.0) Cheznuts, Jester, Izzletoe, Michael Bubré, Ethan (10.0)
puke.gif UltraChristmas, Mistle-Tony (0.0), Gingerbread Cam, Griff (1.0)

38 6.26 Saint Etienne - I Was Born On Christmas Day
heart.gif #psychic7 (10.0), gooddelta, Michael Bubré (9.0)
puke.gif Gingerbread Cam (2.0)

39 6.26 Bing Crosby & David Bowie - Peace On Earth (Little Drummer Boy)
heart.gif Mistle-Tony, Christmaseve201 (10.0)
puke.gif UltraChristmas (1.0)

40 6.24 Bruce Springsteen - Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town
heart.gif Nick F1, Christmaseve201, Riser (10.0)
puke.gif Mistle-Tony (0.0)

Bruce Springsteen starts off the top 40 with his version of the much covered 'Santa Claus...' which is the only version in this rundown. Poor Jacksons didn't get a look in. Next is Bing Crosby and David Bowie with their duet which puts a good twist on the carol 'Little Drummer Boy' making it a lot more interesting.

Buzzjack Christmas entry 'I Was Born...' ends up at #38, not bad for a song barely known in real life. Speaking of barely known at #36 is Darlene Love 'All Alone On Christmas'. Or maybe it is well known and has just escaped me. Her proper classic 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' really should be in its place to be honest.

At #37 is Coldplay with recent 'Christmas Lights' which gets a lot of high points for its low position. Maybe next year to save various members from tears it'll have a better average.

Elton John and Greg Lake have classics sadly missing the top half, entering at #34/35 with the exact same average. Lake is higher due to having more tens.

Just outside the top 30 is Paul McCartney Christmas anthem 'Wonderful Christmastime', one of the big favourites but clearly not on this forum. It even gets a minus one.

Below that are some literally ancient songs, 'It's Beginning...', recently covered by Michael Bublé whose version re-enters the top 100 every year now thanks to its big streams, but it is the Perry Como original that lands at #32. A place below that is Dean Martin's version of Christmas standard 'Let It Snow...'.

How can you do that to Christmas Lights... Coldplay are still the biggest band in the world okay.

I mean, it's a really lovely building song even taking aside the Christmas element, one of a few I will happily listen to all year.

That Chris de Burgh track is an absolute classic for me, he really is a storyteller and to think it only peaked at no40 in the chart after he became relevant with Lady in Red in 1986.

Sad that a classic like Nat King Cole is so low that is such a genius Christmas moment. As for poor Peter Auty he really lost out with the Snowman lol his version of the famous track only peaked at 37 in 1987 whereas Aled got in the top 10

Don't like it but fair play to St Ettiene for being so high. Two of my favs Coldplay & Greg Lake FAR to low. Love Bruce Springsteens version of SCICTT by far the best version. Also Bing/Bowie has massively grown on me this yr!!

Ugh, Greg Lake way too low, deserves to be up there with the Christmas classics, don't get why it isn't (in general not just on here) sad.gif Coldplay as well, but does that make them the highest modern Christmas song (after One More Sleep ofc, but this is Buzzjack lol)?
