So often I have heard dog lovers say they hate cats (and possibly the other way around too, but less often). What do you think? Personally I have had both dogs and cats and have always liked both, but I think I have a slight preference to cats. Feels odd saying that since I only have a dog at the moment.

Dogs because you can do so much with them and they're really fun to have around. Cats can be nice and cute too but I just don't get the connection as I do with dogs.

Cats are subtle, beautiful, amusing creatures. If you earn the affection of one you've earnt it for life, they're very discreet around the home and I always agree with them on everything.

Dogs... they are very demanding and too boisterous in general, I much prefer a low effort pet, one that won't get in your face when you don't want them. Also, I really don't find them as cute as cats (at all (sorry))

Neither. Cats are WAY too selfish for me. I do like to look at them (and annoy them) but I could never actually own one myself as I just do not have the patience. I'm not big on dogs either because, whilst they can be good company, they smell awful and I'd only really want a super lazy one that does nothing and wants nothing, which is pretty much only found when one is DEAD, or as good as.

No, my pet/animal of choice are FISH. Simple, colourful, pretty and effortless.

I used to be 100% cat and hate dogs, because I've been bitten by them twice when I still had my paper round.

But ever since I randomly fell in LOVE with pugs (very recently through a friend of mine) I started to like dogs a lot more too.

If I have to choose a pet I would still choose a cat as dogs ask for too much attention and you need to walk them 3 or 4 times a day. Deep down I still want a pug though wub.gif

I'm at the stage now where I will stop people in the street to ask if I can pet their dog. I have three dogs of my own and getting home after a long day and having them really excited to see me is just wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Cats definitely, I like dogs but they'd be too much work for me to own and I'm good with getting cats to like me. They're so cute and cheer me up when I need it. wub.gif

I know the internet loves cats because we identify with them and everyone thinks they're cats trapped inside a human body, but dogs will give you affection at any time of day. Sometimes it's excessive, but sometimes you don't realize you need it, and it's such a comfort when they do. I love cats as well but to them I'm just a lump of flesh they can use to groom themselves.

cats are perfection. i adore dogs but at the root of it they are v entry level and undiscerning in their love, whereas the payoff from earning a cat's love is 💯

Dogs are fine but I'm definitely a cat person. wub.gif They're the most adorable little things and will come and chill with you most of the time, they're so relaxed. It probably helps that I've been brought up with two of them, so yeah cats all the way.

I love both (and have owned both before) but I'd probably say I'm a bit more inclined to cats, they are slightly less high maintenance and I admire their mystery and silent affection. Dogs are just a tad too in-your-face and overeager for me to warm to them at first, BUT once you're used to them, they can really become your best friend. Definitely what happened with the dog I owned so I definitely see their appeal too.

I like how they both embody different ends of the personality spectrum too in a lot of ways, always find it interesting to learn if someone's a 'cat person' or a 'dog person'.
