Seems it's all about consumerism now and most take it down before New Years and have had it up since 20th November or the like!?

Ours came down today. It actually looked really nice in the living room so its a wee bit of a shame to see it go. Really need to get something other than a tiny lamp for that corner

It goes quick but strangely it always seems like just about the right time once you here your first Xmas song again. Spring seems to come quite quickly as you can see the days lengthening as opposed to the opposite throughout the summer months then when you get to st Patrick's day there's only 2/3/4 week periods at work before you're off for Easter - then May bank holiday, then the end of May bank holiday then 6 weeks until the 12th July holiday and the same again until August bank holiday. That's how my year is structured anyway lol

My mum took the decs down a couple of days ago. Not entirely sure what the point of putting them up late and taking them down early is though. Surely it's more efficient to have them up longer with the hassle of putting them up and then away again? tongue.gif

We took it all down on New Year's Day. Which is the best time to do it really, as December is the month of Christmas once January comes I'm well over it.

Either way, its easier to just leave it up all year so you don't have the hassle of taking it down in January and putting it up in November/December laugh.gif

It should be twelfth night to avoid bad luck and that was always the night of 5th January - so before midnight on 6th January to avoid bad luck for the year.

I have no decorations up though, but I do have cards that I shall take down on Tuesday.

I took mine down yesterday because I'm back at work tonight and I'm always in a sleepy-I'm-not-doing-anything state on a work day/night laugh.gif Had a big clean up yesterday as well and now my house feels empty ohmy.gif biggrin.gif

Ours are coming down today as it's back to normality for my family tomorrow (even though I've worked the entire Christmas period laugh.gif)
