Well, we've currently got a best and worst first names thread, and we've had a middle names one before... how about surnames?

Share your own, or if you don't feel comfortable doing so then which surnames do you like/dislike/wish you had? Or maybe you know someone with a cool one.

Discuss away~

My surname is Williams, which is kinda eh. It's not very interesting, I think it's like the 4th most common surname now in the U.K. (well last time I checked anyway). I'm not really a fan of my first and surname combined, I prefer it with my middle name also as a whole.

Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam obviously takes the biscuit *.*

Mine is Crowley, everyone pronounces it wrong (it's not like as in the bird Crow, it's like ow as in "ow that hurt") but it's not hat bad.

We can agree there x

I've come to like 'Sargeson', over the fact that people often don't know how to pronounce it and always ask how to spell it. Nice and unusual, not common like your boring 'Smith'. And a couple of people have told me it sounds Scandinavian?! which I'm not complaining about

Mine is 'Stuart-Turner', it's double-barrelled and doesn't make much sense, seeing as the Stuart is spelt like a first name usually is, rather than Stewart, as everybody assumes it is. I have no idea where the name came from or how far back it was joined up.

On the plus side, with my middle name being Eric, as mentioned somewhere else, my initials are REST. I used to love that at school laugh.gif

Sturtridge, it's Cornish-by-way-of-migration I believe, and only from there. And no one can ever spell it right.

Mine is common as muck Irish - Kelly.

The amount of time people mistake me when I speak and think my surname is Kerry or Cowie is ridiculous. I'm clearly making an L sound!
