5 years since 'Born This Way' already! drama.gif I remember being such a huge fan at the time and being gutted its silly release strategy stopped it going to #1. Remains one of my favourite Gaga fans to date and I actually prefer it to its soundalike 'Express Yourself'.

'Higher' is one Taio's best (nothing to do with the fact Kylie features of course kink.gif). I always felt the UK played the Travie version more despite that supposedly being the US version and the Kylie one for this country which annoyed me at the time. That said, the version where they both feature is the best.

'Boys Will Be Boys' and 'Dead or Alive' being in the Top 10 in 2006 marked the end of my absolute favourite Celebrity Big Brother, even though it was only last year I watched it!

Biography - DJ Fresh
Born in 1977, Dan Stein, aka DJ Fresh, is one of the most influential figures on the U.K. drum'n'bass scene. Influenced by tapes brought back from illegal raves by older friends, he bought his first turntables in his teens, and while at university, started playing late-night sets on local pirate radio stations. In 1999, as part of the drum'n'bass collective Bad Company, he founded record label BC Recordings and the scene's most popular website, Dogs on Acid. After leaving to pursue a solo career, he remixed tracks for Pet Shop Boys, DJ Shadow, and Apollo 440, and founded the Breakbeat Punk label, which later merged with Adam F's Kaos Recordings to become Breakbeat Kaos. In 2006, he released his debut album, Escape from Planet Monday, and four years later, follow-up Kryptonite produced his first hit single, "Gold Dust," which reached number 24. Building on the commercial success that Kryptonite brought, DJ Fresh released the single Louder, the track - used in a Lucozade advertising campaign - became the first dubstep single to reach the top of the UK singles chart. 2012 saw the release of Freshs third studio album, Nextlevelism, which featured collaborations with Rita Ora, Dizzee Rascal and Juliette Lewis. - iTunes

Biography - High Contrast
Seemingly overnight, High Contrast became one of the most discussed drum'n'bass producers in years. Not since the late '90s, when Goldie and Roni Size were recording full-length albums rather than strictly tracks, had there been so much hype thrown upon a drum'n'bass producer's shoulders. The man behind the moniker -- Cardiff, Wales native Lincoln Barrett -- remained humble despite the hype, taking it in stride. He was only 22 when he recorded True Colors, an ambitious double-disc debut album many within the music industry saw as having serious mainstream possibility. Breakbeat Science felt so strongly about it that the New York label released True Colors despite Barrett being a relative newcomer to the stateside drum'n'bass scene. Released in 2004, sophomore album High Society featured the breezy single "Racing Green." In 2007 he released Tough Guys Don't Dance, which included a cover of Iron Butterfly's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" and guest vocals by Diane Charlemagne, Ian Shaw, J'nay, and Linda Gail Lewis. BBC Radio 1 named it their essential mix of 2007. In the years that followed, he remixed a number of tracks for the likes of Adele, Utah Saints, Japanese pop queen Ayumi Hamasaki, Coldplay, Kanye, and Eric Prydz, while also collaborating with Underworld and Axwell. He released a double album best-of, Confidential, which included his hits and high-profile remixes. It wasn't until nearly five years after Tough Guys that he released his fourth album, The Agony & the Ecstasy (2009). In 2012, along with the guys in Underworld, he wrote the music for the opening ceremony of the London Summer Olympics. A digital-only EP -- The Road Goes on Forever -- was released later that year. - iTunes

Biography
Australia-born Conrad Sewell is a soulful vocalist with a bent toward dance-oriented R&B and pop. Born in Brisbane in 1988, Sewell grew up in a musical family and became interested in singing at a young age. By age eight, he had already started recording demo songs with an eye toward a performance career. In 2004, at age 16, he auditioned for the second season of Australian Idol but failed to make the cut. In lieu of Idol, he made the most of his high-school years playing in various local bands, including forming the rock outfit Sons of Midnight, who signed to Universal Germany. Despite achieving a hit single in Europe with "The Fire," Sewell eventually parted ways with the band and relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a solo career. During this time he scored another European hit with the song "Firestone," a collaboration with Norway's DJ Kygo. Buoyed by this success, Sewell began working on his own material, and in 2015 released two debut singles, "Hold Me Up" and "Start Again," on 300 Entertainment. - iTunes

Poor DJ Fresh. Serves MOS right for holding the song back for 3 months though, ridiculous release strategy in 2016!

will be great to see Lukas Graham overtake Zayn in tonight's chart and thus saving the UK chart biggrin.gif

Retro faves:

2015

3- UPTOWN FUNK- Mark Ronson Ft Bruno Mars (70,957)
4- GRAVITY- DJ Fresh Ft Ella Eyre (62,878) DJ Fresh has done much better than this previously, I never really got into it
5- FOURFIVE SECONDS- Rihanna/ Kanye West/ Paul McCartney (54,377)
6- AYO- Chris Brown x Tyga (41,477) so glad this outdid Charli XYZ in the chart and overall, and not just because of the reaction it got from most buzzjack users laugh.gif
9- THE NIGHTS- Avicii (33,885)

2011

1- PRICE TAG- Jessie J Featuring B.o.B (95,697) remember this week well, it seemed like a miracle at the time that 'Champion' was held off #1 by so few copies, and I was so annoyed with Lady Gaga for releasing on a Friday as she could've had a #1 with a full week of first week sales mad.gif
3- BORN THIS WAY- Lady Gaga (61,448) great song by the way!!
5- ROLLING IN THE DEEP- Adele (47,907)
