Next we lose one of the shorter books in this series but arguably one of his most well-known. The book is incredibly funny and tells the tale of George creating a marvellous revenge syrup for his bossy grandma and the resulting mayhem that ensues from it. It has quite real implications for Dahl as a writer, as someone who admired doctors and the medical profession growing up himself. The book is actually dedicated to doctors everywhere and it's a profession that he dreamed of being successful in - but i'm sure we're all very thankful for the career path he chose instead. The book also comes with a warning in it about the dangers of re-creating the marvellous medicine at home and is a necessity given how fun George makes it against the severity of what he is actually doing laugh.gif So yeah, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME ~

Fantastic Mr Fox is utterly wonderful. It's a little less well known than most of the others though.

It was difficult for me but after almost going for Charlie, I went for the Twits. But honestly, this is the correct top 7, and anything would be a casualty at this point.

On a side note, I asked my class in the week before half-term who their favourite authors were. Roald Dahl was the first one to be named and the one that most children said which made me grin from ear to ear as I stated that he too was my favourite author growing up too and probably still is - his legacy reaches generation after generation!

I'll be choosing a Dahl book as our class book for after half-term, I just need to choose on which to go for.. maybe the winner of these polls? tongue.gif
