There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours you haven't started wondering about yet

We enter the top 3 now, and the classic that has failed to make it is James and the Giant Peach. The true definition of a classic, it is such a well known story that practically everyone knows some of the crew that embark on the adventure whether they've read the book or not. The story starts quite drastically with a 4 year old boy being orphaned after his parents are killed by a rhinoceros and James is forced to live with his cruel aunts. There is some happiness to be found though as James soon embarks on a magical adventure with 7 lovable insects (can you name all 7 without cheating? kink.gif). It has a happy ending and is one of the most fantastical of Dahl's stories, full of wonder, intrigue, peril and laughter. Fun fact, it was originally going to be written about a giant cherry mellow.gif

TOP 3 TIME. Deadline: Saturday 12th March

04. James and the Giant Peach (10 votes, 50.00%)
05. The Twits (16 votes, 45.71%)
06. The Witches (11 votes, 33.33%)
07. Fantastic Mr Fox (11 votes, 30.56%)
08. George's Marvellous Medicine (9 votes, 40.91%)
09. Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator (9 votes, 27.27%)
10. Danny the Champion of the World (16 votes, 48.48%)
12. Esio Trot (16 votes, 28.57%)
12. The Enormous Crocodile (16 votes, 28.57%)
14. The Magic Finger (14 votes, 19.72%)
14. The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me (14 votes, 19.72%)
15. Boy: Tales of Childhood (17 votes, 19.32%)

I voted Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but it was close between that and The BFG (as the overall results are too ohmy.gif!).

gutted that the BFG made it in the top 3.

so for that reason, (and because i don't like the story), i'm voting BFG

Voted Matilda, purely for the fact that the other two were defining books of my childhood, more so than Matilda for sure, but all are fantastic.
