Good afternoon everyone!

What an interesting week, it is impossible to predict who will be number 1 ohmy.gif

I would prefer this week Lukas Graham, just so they have a 56th consecutive week at nubmer 1, and next week Mike can have it laugh.gif

Also hoping The Chainsmokers could snatch a top 40 place in the end cheer.gif

Huge 2001 sales! A lot of competition which meant Shaggy was robbed of a long running #1 hit. sad.gif

Even I didn't realise how close the Top 3 were in the week of the lowest #1 sale. Wish 'Pump It' was a #1 but Orson deserved it too.

2006

Side note: Such memories from this chart. Girls Aloud dedicating an entire episode of their docu-series promoting Whole Lotta History. I think only Cheryl was happy with #6. Didn't realise how close Orson and Chico was and thank goodness Orson won that week. I also loved Bright Idea and Ain't No Party from them. Such a shame that No Tomorrow was the lowest #1 selling single. 2006 was pretty awful for sales. I don't think Beyonce even sold 30k in her opening week when she topped the chart with Deja Vu.

1- NO TOMORROW- Orson (17,694)

'Always Come Back to Your Love' by Samantha Mumba was childhood-defining but it was only last year I had re-discovered it and I don't think I've stopped being obsessed with it all over again!

Biography - Avicii
Cleverly using dance music blogs as the platform to launch his career, Tim Bergling, aka Avicii, has since become one of the most prominent producers on the burgeoning Swedish house scene. Born in Stockholm in 1989, Bergling only started making music at the age of 18, writing and remixing tracks in his bedroom and then leaking them onto various blogs. Influenced by Daft Punk and Steve Angello, his melodic house sound gained a huge following, and led to support from TiŽsto, who invited him to perform a weekly residency at Privilege in Ibiza, and Pete Tong, who released first single "Manman" through his Bedroom Bedlam label. After he remixed tracks for Little Boots, Robyn, and Dizzee Rascal, Bergling's first mainstream release, the Ministry of Sound instrumental "Seek Bromance," became a huge hit across Europe and later in the U.K., thanks to a vocal version featuring Amanda Wilson. In 2012 he released the song "2 Million" after reaching that number of followers on Facebook, while his single "Levels" and its accompanying video were nominated at that year's MTV Video Music Awards. Toward the end of 2012 he released his highly anticipated collaborative single with Nicky Romero. "I Could Be the One" was a smash hit and was featured heavily on reality TV shows and radio play across Europe. In 2013, Avicii teamed up with Ericsson and created the first "crowdsourced" track, which enabled the producer to connect to fans and promote his brand. The single "3 Million" was released to celebrate the three-millionth fan on his Facebook page. "Levels" was nominated for the Best Dance Recording at the 2013 Grammys but lost out to Skrillex & Sirah's "Bangarang." Ahead of his debut album True, he released the single "Wake Me Up" in June 2013. Featuring Aloe Blacc, it reached the top of the U.K. charts and confidently showed off his new musical direction, which was a more traditional style of pop. A remixed version of the album, True: Avicii by Avicii, arrived in 2014 and featured club-aimed versions of the same tracks. A year later his album Stories continued to explore the mixing of EDM and pop, this time with guests like Zac Brown, Wyclef Jean, Matisyahu, and Martin Garrix in support. - iTunes

Biography - Conrad Sewell
Australia-born Conrad Sewell is a soulful vocalist with a bent toward dance-oriented R&B and pop. Born in Brisbane in 1988, Sewell grew up in a musical family and became interested in singing at a young age. By age eight, he had already started recording demo songs with an eye toward a performance career. In 2004, at age 16, he auditioned for the second season of Australian Idol but failed to make the cut. In lieu of Idol, he made the most of his high-school years playing in various local bands, including forming the rock outfit Sons of Midnight, who signed to Universal Germany. Despite achieving a hit single in Europe with "The Fire," Sewell eventually parted ways with the band and relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a solo career. During this time he scored another European hit with the song "Firestone," a collaboration with Norway's DJ Kygo. Buoyed by this success, Sewell began working on his own material, and in 2015 released two debut singles, "Hold Me Up" and "Start Again," on 300 Entertainment. - iTunes

Biography
English singer/songwriter Jasmine van den Bogaerde, who goes by the stage name Birdy, was born in 1996 in Lymington, Hampshire. Precocious from the very start, Bogaerde began composing her own songs at the age of seven and in the coming years frequently posted her music and performances on YouTube. By the time she was 14, Birdy had signed a publishing contract with Warner Chappell. In early 2011, she independently released her first single, a cover of American indie rock outfit Bon Iver's "Skinny Love," which peaked at number 17 on the U.K. pop charts. Her self-titled full-length debut, released through Atlantic Records, arrived in November of that year. The record was a huge success, particularly in Australia, Belgium, Holland, and France, where it shot straight to number one, while it also reached the U.K. Top 20. The collection of stripped-back arrangements mostly comprised indie artists, including the Postal Service and Fleet Foxes, whose songs were overhauled by Bogaerde's haunting voice and sparse production. Fire Within, the follow-up to her debut, presented a new phase in Bogaerde's development, displaying her songwriting talent with 11 original tracks. Released in 2013, the album was written with help from collaborators such as Ryan Tedder (Beyoncť, Leona Lewis), Dan Wilson (Adele, Taylor Swift), and Mumford & Sons pianist Ben Lovett. A new single, "Let It All Go," co-written with fellow British singer/songwriter Rhodes, began climbing the charts in 2015. The single "Keeping Your Head Up" was released in early 2016 in advance of her forthcoming third LP. - iTunes

Biography
France's David Guetta belongs to the sparkling wave of DJs who combine Daft Punk's sleek house music with a pinch of electroclash's punch. Guetta had been DJ'ing around France playing popular tunes, but his brain was particularly rewired in 1987 when he heard a Farley Jackmaster Funk track on French radio. He taped the track, brought a copy to a gig, and promptly cleared the floor with it during one of his own sets. Things loosened up a year later when acid house came to France and Guetta successfully promoted his own club nights. It was during one of those nights in 1992 that he met Robert Owens, a Chicago-based house legend who was touring across Europe at the time. Guetta played Owens some of his own tracks, and Owens picked one he liked enough to sing over. The result was "Up and Away," a minor hit that lurked in garage DJ crates for the next four years. Guetta's carefree attitude -- that he only produces good music while he's having casual fun -- kept the DJ from releasing anything until 2001's "Just a Little More Love." The track featured American gospel singer Chris Willis, who met Guetta while on vacation in France. Another slow burner, "Just a Little More Love," kept popping up in sets for the next two years, first in an electro version and later in a pumped-up Wally Lopez remix. During this time, Guetta snuck out a bootleg remix of David Bowie's "Heroes," retitled "Just for One Day." Bowie gave the go-ahead to release the track officially, and Guetta soon had a massive hit on his hands. Guetta featured the liberated boot on his first mix CD, f*** Me I'm Famous, named after Guetta's successful Ibiza-based party. The fun-loving slacker DJ finally got around to releasing a collection of his own productions in 2004, Just a Little More Love on Astralwerks. Guetta Blaster arrived that same year, followed by Poplife in 2007. Chris Willis sang lead vocals on the latter album, which spun off multiple dance singles in multiple countries. f*** Me I'm Famous: International, Vol. 2 was then released in July 2008, giving listeners a taste of the stylish sounds that orchestrated Guetta's summer club events in Ibiza. A year later he released One Love, a platinum-selling album featuring the singles "When Love Takes Over" with Kelly Rowland, "Sexy Bitch" with Akon, and "Gettin' Over" with Chris Willis. In 2010, Guetta received five nominations at the 52nd Grammy Awards, two of them related to the One Love album and the other three for his work on the Black Eyed Peas' massive worldwide hit "I Gotta Feeling." That same year, One Love was reissued as One More Love, featuring a bonus disc of remixes and new tracks. A superstar guest list -- featuring Akon, Lil Wayne, Flo Rida, Usher, Chris Brown, and others -- would figure into his 2011 release, Nothing But the Beat, but this time the DJ's songwriting was inspired by dramatic rock bands like Coldplay. In 2014, Guetta released three singles on his own Jack Back label, all of which were rounded up on that year's Lovers on the Sun EP. Later that year Guetta released his sixth studio album, Listen. Perhaps as a reaction to inadvertently finding himself a sort of unofficial godfather to the burgeoning EDM movement, the album saw him branching out of his electro-house comfort zone, experimenting with elements of hip-hop, alternative rock, R&B, and acoustic instrumentation, and featuring guest artists as diverse as Emeli Sandť, Sia, the Script, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. - iTunes
