So we're 3 months into 2016, how do you think it has fared for TV / Music / Films?

I'd say so far my favourite songs of the year are 'Work From Home', 'No', 'Kiss It Better', 'Cheap Thrills', 'Say You Do', 'Lush Life' and 'Pillow Talk'. I'd say it has been a surprisingly strong start to the year, maybe one of the strongest I can remember from recent years actually!

On the TV / Film side of things I would say the best films I have seen are '10 Cloverfield Lane', 'Room' and 'Zootropolis'. I also really enjoyed 'Joy' and 'The Danish Girl' too ... every Horror film I've seen however has been incredibly basic. 'Pride, Prejudice & Zombies' is one of my worst films ever. I haven't watched many TV series that aren't Reality TV this year but the last season of 'Fresh Meat' was decent and I think the most recent Celebrity Big Brother was one of the best yet!

Overall, I think 2016 has been off to a really strong start especially comparing it to the start of 2015! How about you? angel.gif

Songs:
Favourite- Work From Home (Fifth Harmony ft Ty Dolla Sign) wub.gif Easily my favourite this year, a fantastic track and a great jam!
Other favourites- No (Meghan Trainor), Piece By Piece Idol Version (Kelly Clarkson), Lush Life (Zara Larsson), Keeping Your Head Up (Birdy), Cheap Thrills (Sia ft Sean Paul)

TV:
Favourite- Happy Valley: Superbly acted and always thrilling heart.gif
Other favourites- Celebrity Big Brother (excellent series and echo Jack's comment on it being one of the best yet), The Night Manager, The People vs OJ Simpson, The 100, Fuller House (obsessed on this, nearly finished watching it!)

Film;
Favourite- Zootropolis: Best film for a couple of years already for me, such an incredible and beautiful animation that is carried even further through its plot and themes
Other favourites- Joy, Deadpool, Alvin And The Chipmunks: Road Chip (ngl, I enjoyed this so much!), Room, Hail Caesar

Film is the only one of the three I'd say that is trailing 2015 at this point due to how many hideous (Zoolander 2, The Revenant), crap (London Has Fallen, Allegiant) and not that good (Batman vs Superman) films there have been this year sad.gif

My top 5 songs would be something like:

01 Little Mix - Secret Love Song
02 Sia - Move Your Body
03 Selena Gomez - Hands To Myself
04 Francesca Michelin - Nessun grado di separazione
05 Fifth Harmony - Work From Home

With No, Piece By Piece, One Strike, a couple of Melfest songs and Lush Life probably up there too.

Album wise this year has been horrendous so far, the only real highlights are obviously Rihanna and Sia, plus Francesca Michelin.

I haven't watched any newly released films this year, TV I haven't watched a lot but Thirteen is an absolute must see and I have loved Stacey Dooley's Sex In Strange Places documentaries laugh.gif Cannot wait for Kimmy Schmidt this month and Orange Is The New Black in June <3

Songs (not doing a very good job of limiting it to the best):
Alan Walker - Faded (and Spectre as well, better instrumental although I adore Faded's lyrics)
Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out (and basically all of Blurryface)
Against The Current - Running With The Wild Things
Nao Hiiragi - Requiem (Stygia Bootleg)
Sigala - Sweet Lovin' (from last year a bit but it has been giving me so much life this year)
Coldplay - Hymn For The Weekend
SaRaHa - Kizunguzungu
Yeasayer - I Am Chemistry
The 1975 - The Sound
Sia - Cheap Thrills
Otto Knows - Dying For You (feat. Lindsey Stirling)
Riton - Rinse & Repeat

Plus Eurovision songs but they can probably mostly enter that list over the next month and a bit. For albums, aside from Blurryface, the main ones have been Grimes - Art Angels and Dream Theater - The Astonishing so far, with associated best song from those also being high up on my lists.

Films, Deadpool is definitely the best (and definitely not only) one I've seen, but very good film.

For TV I've mainly been watching The Walking Dead and plenty of anime (that's mostly a year or so old at least), although I did watch Mr Robot and that was pretty great. Even if it's from 2014/5, the best anime I've seen so far would be Parasyte ~the maxim~ (oh and RWBY vol. 3 was amazing). For uh, things actually released in 2016, I haven't been watching many of those aside from the latest TWD season but Game Of Thrones will change that in a few weeks *.*

I think it's been a pretty poor start to the year music-wise to be honest! Always seems to start off pretty poor though I guess.

01 Rihanna 'Work'
02 Azealia Banks 'Big Talk' (feat Rick Ross)
03 Rihanna 'Needed Me'
04 Desiigner 'Panda'
05 Young Thug 'With Them'

01 Rihanna 'ANTI'
02 Azealia Banks 'Slay-Z'
03 Future 'Purple Reign'
04 Kanye West 'The Life of Pablo'
05 Elliphant 'Living Life Golden'

It's really been all about Rihanna for me. Just checked my last.fm and my top 16 songs of the year are the whole of 'ANTI', haha.
I haven't seen many films this year but loved 'Deadpool'.

TV, Pretty Little Liars (as always :')) and The People Vs. OJ Simpson have been great.

I feel like music-wise, this year has had a better start than last year, although the album side of things feels like it's been quiet so far. Meghan/Fifth Harmony/Ariana/All Saints coming up very soon has me excited though!

Fave songs:

Benjamin - Body
Charlie Puth feat. Selena Gomez - We Don't Talk Anymore
Fifth Harmony feat. Ty Dolla $ign - Work from Home
Frans - If I Were Sorry
Joel Adams - Please Don't Go
Little Mix feat. Jason Derulo - Secret Love Song
Meghan Trainor - NO
Shawn Mendes - Stitches (was loving this throughout 2015 too but it's peaked this year)
Troye Sivan - YOUTH
Zara Larsson - Lush Life

Charlie Puth is the main one on albums so far, nothing else comes close to him yet, although Troye Sivan's Blue Neighbourhood has dominated on the album front this year for me and looks set to continue, was released in December though.

Personally I found it bland, boring and generic with horrific acting and the plot goes on far too long! However if you like movies full of action and lots of shooting etc and go into the movie expecting a bang-bang no plot action, then you'd probably would enjoy it!

Favourite albums so far~

Sia - This is Acting
Rihanna - ANTI
Postiljonen - Reverie
Elliphant ~ Living Life Golden
David Bowie ~ Blackstar

Songs~
Sia ~ One Million Bullets, Cheap Thrills, Reaper, Unstoppable
Rihanna ~ Same Ol' Mistakes, Work, Consideration
Elliphant ~ Love Me Long
Frances Rose ~ Dangerous
Mike Posner ~ I Took A Pill In Ibiza (SeeB Remix)
Fifth Harmony ~ Work From Home

Haven't listened to too much new music this year. Mainly because of David Bowie's passing and going through his entire back catalogue (which i'm not complaining about obviously!).

Been all about Sia, Elliphant, Rihanna and Bowie for me apparently!

I'd say it's been a really strong start, for music especially! Really struggled to keep this list as short as it is. Film is always a bit more sluggish to get going but there's still been a few gems. (Also I'm SO behind on listening to full albums so that list is definitely shorter than it should be.)

Shout out to Funny Girl which I saw at the theatre - Sheridan Smith was fantastic. (Darius less so but don't tell his artist forum)

SONGS
The 1975 - The Sound
All Saints - One Strike
Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman
Chairlift - Crying in Public
Dua Lipa - Last Dance
Miguel - Waves (feat. Kacey Musgraves)
Nick Jonas & Tove Lo - Close
Sia - Unstoppable
St. Lucia - Help Me Run Away
Yeasayer - I Am Chemistry
Zara Larsson - Lush Life
Zayn - Like I Would

ALBUMS
Chairlift - Moth
Josef Salvat - Night Swim
Rihanna - Anti
St. Lucia - Matter

FILMS
Arabian Nights: Volume 1, The Restless One
Creed
Marguerite
The Witch
Zootropolis

TELEVISION
Agent Carter
Broad City
Girls
Happy Valley
Jane the Virgin
Line of Duty
