SO let's discuss one of the many fine English cuisines. What do you like in a fry-up?

I have a fry-up most mornings post-drinking but really I could do with one at ANY time of the week. I love most British food traditions and this is just one of the many high points.

Essentials for me: beans, toast, bacon, sausages, waffles, egg (scrambled or omlette or boiled depending on mood)
Maybe: tomatoes, fish fingers, mushrooms
No: hash-browns

Your thoughts on the great British fry-up?

I'm not that keen on a fry up, mainly just because it's so much food on the one plate and I'm not usually one for breakfast, especially one that heavy. If I am having any 'cooked food' for breakfast I'll have a roll with square sausage and potato scone, that's a Scottish thing though kink.gif I was discussing how deprived all you non-scottish folk are with Lotti the other day because of your lack of square sausages and potato scones actually ohmy.gif

Can't abide a fry up. Here for a sausage bap and that's it.

Never understood how people could eat a fry up when I worked at Morrisons. And that's before they put revolting things like ketchup or HP sauce on it puke.gif

Sausages/bacon/beans/fried or poached egg/tomatoes are all essential here.

Toast or waffles are often a bit too dry, preferably hash browns if they're around, mushrooms are evil things. Concoction as a whole is a wonderful treat, although I don't tend to have it myself, only when I'm at home. And it's a weekend brunch thing more often than not, I can sometimes be very hungry when I wake up.

Though when I was in catered halls at uni in first year there was the option of a fry-up every morning as long as you got up before 9am. Which made getting up or not probably the most important dilemma I faced during that year.

Side note: 'omelette' is the correct spelling right? Seen so many variations recently I've been questioning myself!

I do enjoy a fry up every now and then but I'm not as mad as some people are on them, plus egg and mushrooms are disgusten sick.gif I am part of the black pudding fan club though <3
