concerns about it not being successfull in the longrun

fkirst new newspaper in 3 decades, and it's all ready shut down (last issue goes out tomorrow)

guess it's no surprise- because so many people prefer online/ tv news

thoughts?

This was always a very... brave move, especially so soon after the ceasing of The Independent in print. I guess this was kinda doomed from the start but I didn't quite expect its demise THIS soon.

When it was launched I did think it seemed strange to launch a newspaper when the circulations of the majority (if not all) are in terminal decline.

Was very sad when the Independent migrated online in March and the Independent on Sunday departed forever. Why can't the Daily Mail die? mad.gif

I got the first (free) edition and thought it was pretty awful. There was a distinct lack of news in it. The early deadline (it went to press at around 7.00) was never going to help. It meant it was the only national newspaper to have no mention of Leicester City on Tuesday. Similarly, tomorrow's edition will have no mention of the local election results.

I was disappointed that it was so bad. We could do with a mid-market paper that is very different from the Mail or Express.

An baptism of fire with this wasn't going to work at all.
