Which do you prefer? smile.gif

You can take 'jam' to mean any kind of filling.

Jam "blob" style if you like but I like the rings too. They don't usually have a filling so I prefer the latter tongue.gif

Jam ones are generally cheaper, so that's another factor. smile.gif

Ring easily, Jam/filled in general are way too sickly & messy to eat for me not to have more than occasionally.

Jam, OBV. Though any filled donut is a win really. I don't mind ring doughnuts in general, provided they have GENEROUS icing, otherwise they are far too dry so I'll always go with a filled one.

I agree with Bal. Doughnuts are a bit disgusting. Just too much sugar etc.

Ring doughnuts for sure, jam and custard ones are vile. The chocolate ones are ok but I find them a bit sickly, so would still not choose them over ring.

I was only commenting recently about how overrated doughnuts are. They're just stodgy bread with nice toppings. The toppings can be really good but I'd rather have them on a pastry, a waffle or ice cream.

Do you find that eating out/food is becoming more American in the UK? It certainly has in Dublin. There's so many barbecue places now and doughnut shops, all sorts waffle places and now the city is filling up with bloody burrito places.

hm not really in my experience, although there are stalls from time to time which give the American impression, but I think that's more an advertising thing.

I love a filling and I love icing. Anything will do me tbh but unfortunately I'm on a diet at the mo.
