Top 50 Chart Commentary

For a fourth week in a row it is Kungs and Cookin' On 3 Burners who keep the number one with the amazing 'This Girl', which coincides with its fourth week at number two in the UK singles chart. It is just two weeks away from matching 'This Is What You Came For's 2016 record for longest time spent at number one. Speaking of which, that song climbs back up a place to number two this week, allowing Croatia Squad to slide down to number three where it spends its seventh week in the top three.

The rest of the top five are unchanged also with Alan Walker and Disclosure remaining at numbers four and five respectively for a third week each.

Maybe we'll get something new in the top five next week though, such as Kent Jones' 'Don't Mind' which climbs nine places to this week's number seven - and is the only entry to the top ten this week in what is otherwise a stale upper end of the chart. Era Istrefi and Danny L Harle remain at their peaks of numbers six and eight respectively. Mike Perry drops two places to number nine and AlunaGeorge are down to number ten.

Billie Black entered at number fourteen a few weeks ago and now improves upon that peak by one position with 'I Waited For You'.

Martin Garrix gets another top 20 hit this week with video-game inspired 'Oops', which climbs to #15 this week. It is his sixteenth top 20 hit single in a chart history that stretches back three years, where his debut single 'Animals' entered the chart and would eventually make number one.

Also entering the top 20 are Christine and the Queens who get their first chart hit with 'Tilted', up to #17. Coldplay return to the top 20 with 'Hymn For The Weekend', this time helped by SeeB on the remix. It climbs to #18 this week, five places below the original's peak of #13.

MØ enters the top 40 with 'Final Song' at #29, finally after bopping between 41-60 for seven weeks. It follows her #19 hit 'Kamikaze'.

Cheat Codes follow-up 'Sex' already with another cover, 'Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On)'. It enters the top 40 at #30 this week, still below 'Sex' but it should climb above it shortly.

Matoma and Becky Hill collab on 'False Alarm', which makes its first top 40 impression this week at #39, and Big Wild enters the top 40 one place below in its fourth week on the chart with 'Aftergold'.

Jonas Blue follows #18 hit 'Fast Car' with 'Perfect Strangers', which enters the top 50 at #45 this week and should go on to be his second top 40 hit next week.
