I'll keep my request brief.

I request this feature mainly for two reasons,

First, because the original Now Music forum was closed down some years back and is no longer accessible to view historic posts. I can personally account for there being thousands of forum members and many active users each day.

Second, 2018 will likely see the release of the long awaited Now 100, and I'd like to mark the occasion leading up to it by personally reviewing the entire series to see the journey it's come on in the last 35 or so years. I'm sure many would contribute.

If a moderator was needed I would gladly volunteer for that section.

Myself and a few others once went about creating this forum many years back;

Unofficial Now Music Forum

Thanks for your consideration guys. happy.gif

This is a great idea but others wouldn't like it, I'm afraid.

No, the pop forum is a good enough place to discuss these

Edit: Also that forum you posted has had about 2 posts since december 2015

My apologies.

As to that forum, yes it has been neglected on the whole for some time by many of us.

Thanks for replying.

I'd be interested but I'm not sure the masses would be. I was quite the poster on the old forum between 2004-8. I stopped when most of my friends got banned from there for no reason.

What Tim said,

Pop forum is fine for discussion, there's nowhere near enough interest for a Now forum.

Personally I would ADORE this but that's just because I'm a bit of a Now That's What Call I Music loon kink.gif But realistically, I think what we currently have (the thread in the Pop forum) is fine and there's probably not enough interest to warrant a whole forum.

No new subforums seem to be getting added until the 'new site comes' anyway (poor Taylor Swift AF) so this probably wouldn't go anywhere for ages even if there was demand.

(Your personal reviewing of the series sounds like something I'd be really interested in by the way, so please do make a thread for that when the time comes!)

Thanks Jade, I'll get on it soon then, and I'd love your input of course! happy.gif

I was quite the poster on the old forum between 2004-8. I stopped when most of my friends got banned from there for no reason.

I do recall those bad days T Boy, and I was bullied a fair bit by the admins there for no just reasons. My alias then was Drew.

For those who supported the idea of a Now Music forum, I think we stand a better chance of it if we get discussing the series and getting others involved of course. The more interest in this, the more chance of it happening I feel.

On that note, please get involved in the review I set up this week for the very first Now volume from 1983! laugh.gif

I think that's quite an interesting idea to be honest.

I don't really follow the NOW series but I'm almost sure it would be a success.

I think a NOW! sub-forum is one of the better/more sensible suggestions we've had for ages.

It's certainly more deserving of a forum than Ellie Goulding or Ariana Grande to name 2 other recent non-jokey suggestions

i'd like to see a now music forum.

it's probably 1 of (if not) the most successfull compilation series (only other 1 i can think of that even comes close is ministry of sound), and their is so much you could do with it- track rates, discussion of the spin offs, upcoming releases, loads of stuff

i just never thought 1 thread in the pop forum really did it justice

it's just a thought anyway

Bipolar Angel seems to agree with you danG from this post back in April.

Couldn't we just trial it moderators and see what response it gets, and if after a trial period it's deemed unsuitable them it can be taken down and the posts moved to the pop forum instead? I really think it could get a good following if last night's plug.dj session was anything to go by for starters.

perhaps this is something that could be considered again? the Retro forum currently is cluttered with NOW! compilation reviews, and they have proven popular. and once Wardy's review series has ended there is still the opportunity for discussion of forthcoming releases, rates and all.

This would be amazing, it's sparked quite a bit of chat lately. I know ones such as ThePensmith, lewistgreen, Brade and a host of others would support the idea.

Perhaps the best place to put such a subforum would be the Retro forum anyway, rather than the Pop forum.

Plus, next year, 2018, is a very special year for the series as it approaches it's 100th volume, and it's 35th anniversary! wub.gif

14 people currently on plug.dj listening to Now 57 right now would disagree with you. kink.gif

Can we not trial it for a period and see what response it gets? happy.gif

Those 14 people can easily find their way to the Retro forum
