so who's looking forward to going into university this September??!

just realised that it'll be less than 2 weeks before I have a pre-introduction week (non-compulory week but I think I'll need it, it's going to take a bit to get me settled into uni), and then my official freshers week starts from the 19th.

discuss your freshers plans here especially if any interesting music acts are playing at your freshers (we don't have any sad.gif)

will anyone else here be living from home or just me? downside is it's a 45 minute drive but at least I'll save a lot of money by not having to use their accommodation.

I probz won't go to any parties either cos I don't enjoy them.

@Jade Jealous that you get Clean Bandit and we get nothing because we're a small campus sad.gif I imagine I'll see them someday at some festival though.

OMG I'M SO OLD.

I went to Uni 9 years ago mellow.gif

Guys/Gals - this will be one of the best experiences of your life. Live, learn, love. Take the chance to get to know more about yourself and others (and other cultures) and widen your horizons. Uni opens so many doors and there's a whole world of opportunities at your feet. Tell peer pressure to f*** off; be safe with Alcohol; in Scotland its worth remembering that legally being under the influence means you are unable to give consent - it's a practise worth sticking to across the world, don't be a douche; trust your gut instinct; have tonnes of fun; work hard

and most important of all; remember that whatever happens, you did AMAZING to get into Uni and you're f***ing awesome and everything will work out fine. Your first year flat might be utter hell (trust me, I was a warden - I've seen shit) but you'll come out stronger and better and more you.

Y'all can drop me a line any time you want to chat. As I've said before, I was a warden at St Andrews in the largest hall of residence. I was the overnight point of contact for students in halls who were dealing with anything from roommate issues, self harm, cleaning issues, emergencies, drunkenness and everything in-between and pretty much everything you can imagine. Use and abuse people! I no longer deal with this IRL so don't have an outlet for it anymore! Got to let my empathy out somewhere, it ruins my sarcastic vibe

This is like an advanced conglomeration of the daily threads, I have quite a lot going on! Mostly excited to be living with my best friends though as opposed to my shitty flatmates from last year lmao. Also been added to an LGBT group chat so hopefully I make a good few new friends through that, may do something with them when I move in.

Saturday 19th - move into my new house with my friends *.* going out that night to the SU.
Sunday - no night out planned, the event they have on is a really shit one laugh.gif
Monday - Initiation which is in some unconfirmed club but it looks mental from videos so i've bought a ticket
Tuesday - Icebreaker, which was the best night of freshers last year at Oceana *.*
Wednesday - "Cheese and Union" at the SU which is cheesy music night with Phil Mitchell as the special guest *.*
Thursday - nothing planned, maybe not a movie night
Friday - as above
Saturday - Freshtival which has CHRISTINE & THE QUEENS PLAYING OUR SU *.* *.* *.* *.*

I echo Silas though, as a 2nd year I can say that it will be the best thing you do, you make so many friends! It's bettered me as a person, confidence wise for example and my social skills, as well. I'm gonna jealous of all the freshers with an easier ride than me though laugh.gif

Southampton gives you some decent gig possibilities. The Guildhall is a good venue, and Portsmouth and Bournemouth are both an easy train ride away. Then, of course, there's always London.
