So I walked into Sainsbury's today and couldn't wait to have their incredible meal deal where you basically get a free drink and crisps. First I noticed there was no queue, which is highly unusual because it usually stretches out the door because their meal deal is so popular at uni. Bizarre. Then as I walked up to the sandwich isle it dawned on me. Sainsbury's have DESTROYED their meal deal harder than Channel 4 have destroyed Bake Off. For some reason they've replaced the majority of their sandwiches for some crappy cheaper versions and then excluded anything above £1.50 from being in the bloody meal deal! What a farce! I stormed out of Sainsbury's in disgust (as did probably every other student who entered expecting their usual amazing meal deal).

In a rage, I entered Co-op (one which Duffy doesn't work at) and discovered their INCREDIBLE meal deal. First they have a decent selection of "cheap" sandwiches as well as more pricey ones. ALL in the meal deal! Then they have a far wider selection of snacks including all these amazing chocolate related stuff AND even fruit boxes. And to top it all off, unlike Sainsbury's, they have Fanta Fruit Twist in the deal as well. I thought £3.25 well spent. Got to the counter and then realised 10% off made it cheaper than Sainsbury's crappy £3 deal by a whole SEVEN PENCE!

The moral of the story is ignore the pathetic capitalist whores known as Sainsbury's and mourn the deal of their meal deal institution and instead flock to the incredible Co-Op!

End of post.

Omg I just discovered it happened two weeks ago and there's even a news article about people bitching about it.

(Coronation Chicken, Millionaire Shortbread and Fanta Fruit Twist)

The outrage caused by this change is so British it's unreal. Personally I'm fond of the boots meal deal

I am far too fussy when it comes to shop bought sandwiches to go anywhere but M&S anyway

(Though I did get a decent-ish salmon bagel from Sainsburys a few months back as part of the deal)

Coronation Chicken is the best sandwich the co-op do. I'd recommend looking in the other two because some co-ops have HOT FOOD and SALADS in their meal deal. I love it so much.
