Who else loves this oily fish then? I love it grilled fresh, smoked or even in tins in a sandwich or with salad. It's the scavenger of the sea, bit like a catfish, as it eats all the crap on the sea bed. Very high in omega 3 though so good for you.

When I was a lad we used to go with my uncle in Ireland to catch them fresh from the Irish sea at 8am and were eating them with chips at lunchtime!

Can people on this forum not read? It says "APPRECIATION" thread. Therefore, you should only be posting comments in Appreciation of Mackerel. First the Honey G Appreciation thread being misused and now this sleep.gif

Mackerel is great heart.gif Extremely good for you and tasty too! Everyone should have a little mackerel in their lives.

Liking mackerel is literal common sense.

I don't though, I find it too strong.

That's what I like about it though, as it tastes of fish. Cod, haddock etc don't really taste of anything.

Well said. It is one of the fishes with the highest calorie count though as it's quite oily. So not to be eaten too often. Our Beagle loves a bit too.

Icr if I've had Mackrell but I do like fish although it's not something I'd choose to eat unless it's shellfish, mussels are my fave and I'm always up for a good prawn curry

Prawns are delicious but a bit expensive. We get a big box from Billingsgate fish market.
