Firstly, hi there Robert and welcome to BuzzJack hi.gif

Anyway, I thought they ceased publication on the Guinness Hit Singles & Albums books like 10 years ago? ohmy.gif I'm very behind if not.

Virgin did one in 2010, but I doubt there will ever be another one now with the Official Charts Company data online, and also with streaming killing off new entries to the chart and older chart enthusiasts who think it should be sales-based still (ie me). When you have an entire album featuring in the charts as individual tracks, or chart runs of years there really ceases to be a base for comparison with the old music actual Singles Releases, so the 2010 book is prob fine as a dividing line between the 2 eras.

You could probably fit an entire year's new entries "Guinness" style onto a lottery ticket these days laugh.gif

Yeah the last one published by Guinness was in 2006, and the Virgin Hit Singles 2 (edited by the same guys) was the last edition published up to 10 April 2010 ( the weeks that Scouting For Girls got to #1).

It's a shame there isn't a more up-to-date version available, I used to get the Guinness one for Christmas every year.
