I was having a debate with a friend earlier and I mentioned that All I Want For Christmas Is You is by far the best Christmas song but she disagreed..

So discuss - what is your favourite Christmas song?

Mines isn't really a classic Christmas song but Train - Shake up Christmas is my favourite! It was used in the coca-cola advert around 6 years ago and it's been my fav ever since! Seven will be banging his head on the wall when he realises it's nearly December and I'm going to be playing it 24/7 again dance.gif

Edit - Fairytale of New York is also the best!

My top 3 is probably as follows

1. Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You
2. The Pogues - Fairytale Of New York
3. John Lennon - Happy Xmas (War Is Over)

In terms of new Christmas songs, Leona Lewis' song is my favourite and probably will become a classic.

I like this one, and Mariah's, but the Pogues/Kirsty is still my fav.

Fairytale of New York is a modern epic and all shall bow before its timelessness.

The Darkness' Christmas Time is probably my second favourite.

Jona Lewie's Stop The Cavalry is very good, some covers of Sleigh Ride are great, and Walking In The Air (either the original or the Nightwish version *.*) opens up so many beautiful feelings of nostalgia.

(also it is November so it'll still be a month before I start playing them)

1. Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday
2. Elton John - Step Into Christmas
3. The Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping
4. The Pogues - Fairytale of New York
5. Boney M - Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord

There's so many to choose from tbh, I could make a whole Personal Chart out of them

The best Christmas song is, without a doubt, Fairytale Of New York. Followed by I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday, All I Want For Christmas Is You and Last Christmas.
